| As Trunks looked and Pan and Tomarotto, he wondered what could have made his father so angry at Gohan. The two had never been on really good terms, but to fight like this? He shrugged it off and took to the sky hurrying to get home to his wife and son. "Marron's gonna be pissed at me for taking off so quickly, but I had to know what was going on," he said as he flew through the air. Trunks knew he was going to have to change his ways now that he was a family man. He had a wife AND a son to look after now. "Trunks! There you are!!" Marron shouted as she saw him setting down in their yard. "Gomen, Marron-chan. I had to leave in a hurry." "What was going on?" "Well, seems my father and Gohan-sama got into a big fight." "What about?" She asked as Cabot pulled on her blond hair. "They wouldn't tell anyone. It was the damned-est thing I ever saw!" "Well, you can ask your father when we go over there," she said as she turned to walk back into the house. "Yeah, but I doubt he'll tell me." Later. . . Trunks, Marron, and little Cabot sped to Capsule Corp in Trunks's new "family" aircar. "Marron, don't worry. My folks will love him." "I don't know. Your father is Vegeta, after all." "Well, if he doesn't like him, I know Kassan will," he said taking her hand and kissing it. "Yeah, Bulma-sama will love him. How could she not?" She asked as she looked back into the back seat watching her son play with a rattle. 'He looks like so much like Trunks-- with pink hair,' she laughed to herself. The family finally arrived at Capsule Corp after fighting traffic for a half-hour. Trunks hopped out, removed Cabot from his carseat, and took off running toward Vegeta and Bulma's home. "Kassan? Tousan? Are you home?" He hollered. "Yes, Trunks, we're home," Bulma called back. "I have someone who wants to meet you," he said proudly as Bulma rounded the corner. Vegeta was not far behind her as she was dragging him by the arm. "Oh, Trunks! He's beautiful!!" Bulma exclaimed as she took her grandson from him. "Look Vegeta! Your grandson!" "Yeah, a quarter-Saiyan!" He humphed. "Pan's a quarter-Saiyan, and she's tough as nails!" Trunks growled at his father. "Yeah, Kakarrot's grand-brat is tough, but I'm sure your mother will make him a little sissy-- just like she tried to make you!" "Vegeta, if you have nothing but ugly things to say around my sweet little Cabot-- THEN GET OUT!!!!" Bulma screamed. "Fine!" He spat back at her. Trunks glared at his father with daggers in his eyes. 'First, he tries to kill Gohan and know he says cruel things about my son. What the Hell is his problem?!' He thought. "I'm sorry, Trunks. I'm not going to let your father talk bad about Cabot." "It's okay, Kassan. I'm used to hearing him bad mouth me," he sighed. "Trunks-kun," Marron called to him as she walked through the door carrying a diaper bag. "Did you forget about me?" "Gomen, Marron. Let me help you," he said as he rushed over to his wife who was loaded down with a very heavy bag. "I heard Prince Vegetable head saying mean things about my son," she growled. "Yeah, but you know my father." "Still, Cabot is a quarter-Saiyan. That should account for something!" "Marron-chan, don't you worry about Vegeta. He'll come around," Bulma said before cooing at Cabot who was now laughing up a storm. Bulma looked into the little boy's blue eyes which reminded her so much of his mother's. His soft pink hair curled down the front of his forehead much like Trunks's purple hair had when he was a baby. "Besides, your parents loved him!" Trunks kissed her cheek trying to comfort his wife. Later . . . "Trunks, I'm going to lie down. I'm very tired," Marron said as she kissed her husband's cheek. "Okay, go lie down in my old room. I'll wake you before dinner." "I'm not going to take a nap." "Okay," he grinned at her. "Baka!" She hissed before smiling back at him. As she ascended the stairs leading up to her husband's old room, Trunks made his way into the kitchen where his mother was playing with Cabot. "I just wish that we'd gotten to see him when he was born, Trunks," Bulma frowned a bit while looking upon her grandchild. "Gomen, Kassan, you know how Juuhachi feels about Vegeta. She didn't want him anywhere near Marron when she was pregnant." "I know, but Vegeta wouldn't have hurt her. You know that, right?" "I do, but . . ." "But what?" "Well, it's just that he and Gohan almost killed one another this afternoon." "WHAT?!" "He didn't tell you that!?" "No, he didn't tell me anything about it! Oh that man! Sometimes . . ." "It was pretty intense, Mom. I really thought he and Gohan were going to go all out." "What was it over?" "Gohan gave the lame excuse of insulting Tousan's Saiyan heritage, but I didn't buy it. That wouldn't have mad Tousan THAT mad." "Hmm, I guess I'll have to find out later tonight." "When you do, please let me know. I'm worried about both of them." At the Son home "Gohan, Pan tells me that you and Vegeta got into a heated battle this morning," Chi-Chi said as she placed plates on the table for lunch. "Hai, Kassan," was all he said. "Do you want to tell me what all that was about?" "No." "No?! What do you mean no?!" Chi-Chi demanded getting angry. "Kassan, I don't want to talk about it," he said not even looking at her. Chi-Chi was more hurt than mad. Her Gohan had never kept anything from her. Whatever this was between her son and Vegeta must be very personal; otherwise Gohan would've told her about it. "Fine. Goten tells me that next week he and Bra get to find out what sex the baby is," she said as she turned away to bring the rice to the table. When she turned around, Gohan was gone. "What is wrong with him?! He's acting so strangely," she said looking toward the blowing curtains. At Bra's and Goten's home There was a knock at the door as Bra was preparing a mid-day meal for herself. "Come in," she called out. Nothing. "Come in, the door is open!" She shouted. Still nothing. "For Dende's sake!" She exclaimed. Walking through the kitchen into the living room, she caught a glimpse of the parenting magazines Goten had been reading. "I can never let him know," she whispered. She opened the door to find a package on the front step. She bent over and took the package into her arms. The label simply said, "Bra Briefs." "Bra Briefs?! My last name is Son now," she said as she thought how odd it was for someone to send her something with her maiden name addressed on the label. She opened the box to find a vial of blood with a note tied to the vial. Untying the note, she recognized the handwriting. The note read: "Bra, This is the sample of blood that you wanted. I hope that the results of the paternity test are the results you want. Call me when the tests are completed. I love you, Gohan" "Gohan," she said aloud. "We have to know who this baby belongs to," she said as she ran her hand over her stomach, which was beginning to show the signs of her being pregnant. She gathered her purse and coat up and left Goten a note that she'd be back later. She was going to see her mother. Back at Capsule Corp. "Bulma-sama? Are you home?" Goten called out. "Goten, is that you?!" Trunks shouted. "Trunks!" Goten ran to where his best friend's voice resonated. "Hey man!" Trunks said as he extended a hand to his best friend. "Listen, bro, where's your mom?" "She's changing Cabot," he smiled. "Oh yeah, I haven't seen your son yet!" Goten expounded as he ran off to find Bulma. "Goten!" Trunks called out and went after him. "Ah, Goten-chan! I thought I heard your voice!" Bulma laughed as he bounced into the room. "Hello! Wow, that's Trunks' and Marron's son!?" Goten asked as he pointed to the pink-haired infant. "Yep, he looks a lot like his daddy," she smiled proudly. "Yeah, he does. Oh yeah, I brought the blood sample you asked me to bring by," he stated as he fished around in his pockets. "Goten, you run too fast!" Trunks panted as he leaned against the door facing. "You're just too soft!" He laughed at Trunks. "Listen, did Gohan tell you what happened between him and my father this morning?" "I haven't spoken to him since I flew off with Bra. Did your father say anything?" "No." "He will tell me!" Bulma exclaimed. "Isn't that right, Cabot?" She asked the giggling infant. "If anyone can get it out of him, it's mom!" Trunks laughed putting his hand behind his head as Bulma, Goten, and Cabot laughed at him. "Well, I've gotta jet. I'm sure Bra's wondering where I am, and I don't like leaving her alone," he said as the three with Cabot in tow walked out of the spare room and headed for the door. "You take care of my baby sis, got it?!" Trunks sounded half-serious, half-joking. "You know it!" He smiled and waved to both as he took to the air. "Why do you need a sample of his blood, mom?" Trunks asked as Cabot held his arms out to him. "I asked Goten to bring over a vial of his blood because I'm running some tests. This will the first baby to be born to two half-Saiyans," she smiled as she headed for her lab. Meanwhile..... Bra had been in the lab all the while Goten, Trunks, and Bulma had been talking and making over Cabot. She just wanted to drop the blood off, label it as Goten's, and leave a note for her mother. She didn't want to stay too long; Goten would be home very soon wanting lunch. She grabbed a pen and paper and began to write, "Kassan, Here is a sample of Goten's blood so that you can do your weird experiments! Love, Bra" "There no one will ever know that this blood is Gohan's. I'll come back later and do a paternity test." Suddenly, she heard someone coming. "Shimatta! I gotta get out of here," She gasped. She quickly ran from the lab leaving the sample of Gohan's blood on her mother's lab table. "I have to know if this baby is Gohan's-- this is the only way," she said as she opened the air car door and sped off in the direction of her and Goten's home. |
