KAMINKAP was represented in this event by Ms. Aleia B. Hassan, the General Santos City Office In-Charge and Management Support Services Officer. Existing CRS partners who are working with the Mindanaoan youth have been tapped to send representatives to take part in the processes. Likewise, these participants are musically inclined who can compose and sing and with ready knowledge and ability to play indigenous musical instruments. All thirty (30) participants in the workshop are to commit to participate in the succeeding processes that will culminate in the production of a Peace CD Album which hopefully be launched within the year. In the process of coming up with peace songs, the Mindanaoan youths are provided with rare opportunity to discuss issues and concerns affecting them and in way are given concrete space to shape their stake and role in Mindanao peace and development agenda. Integrated in the process will be the consolidation of dreams and visions of peace of Mindanaoan youths. These will provide thematic content to the songs to be recorded. Overall, it is CRS desire that this process will be a concrete opportunity and contribution of the tri-people youth in the arena of Mindanao peace and development processes. The Peace Album will eventually become a medium to mainstream the sentiments and inspirations of the Mindanao youth for peace as well as generate support not only from the youth sector but from all Mindanaoans to give importance and engage in various peace mechanisms as they are inspired by the peace songs.
