Day 6

Hey....what kinda creature are you?

Today Seaman told us how to get more food. Now we have a separate mesh wire tank with plants and eggs in it. The egss grow into largae that we can feed to the Seamen (they eventually grow into moths that lay more eggs) and plants for them with more seeds that we can plant in the Seaman tank.

They started asking my friend other things too, like his age, gender, and date of birth.

Unfortunately, there are only 2 Seamen left...they ate the rest.

Day 7

The Seamen are so big now they are about twice as long as a hand. They ask all kinds of questions now, like if he is single or married, if he has a girlfriend, what her sign is and so forth. Then they started doing zodiac comparisons of them. Then they asked questions about his parents and asked about their health and their signs. Much more questios than that, so very inquisitive.

My friend gave one of them a name also, and when it was named, it turned a wonderful golden color. It responds to that name now. Even though he has a name, my friend refers to them as the Golden Child, and the Bitch, because he hits that one all the time. For some reason, the one that he hit from the beginning is still alive.

Day 8

Evolution at its finest!

A most wonderful thing has happened!!!

The Seamen have begun growing LEGS!! It's true! They are actually growing tiny little frog legs in the back. The front fins have also been evolving, they are smaller now and look like the fins of the earliest land fish.

Anyway, they now use their legs and new fins as their means of locomotion. Their tails have not gotten smaller yet, but we are waiting.

The moth in the other tank has begun laying 2 eggs, one contains a larvae, the other contains a spider. I cannot convince my friend to keep one, he kills them immediately in the tank when he finds one.

The Seamen can SING!!

If you hold one long enough he goes "Ow Ow Ow Oh Oohhhh I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee..." and is immediately dropped.

Day 9

Let's get it on

Today the Seamen were approximately twice as big as yesterday. Their legs are very well developed now, but their tails have not yet begun to decrease. Spock tells us that they are Frogfish, instead of the previous Gillmen.

OH GOD NO!!

Today the Golden Child swam over the top of Bitch and they began to...well..lets just say they wrapped their legs around each other. We were, at first, very happy. We had forgotten the nature of the Seamen, however, and were shocked when the Golden Child floated to the top of the tank. He was dead. We were completely mortified! Now we have one remaining Seaman.

We have now decided that any interaction between the Seamen results in death. We will remember this if we decide to play again.

Leonard Nemoy says that if we get Seaman's help we can move the large rock in the tank that we previously could not move. My friend thinks that there may be something under it, or that we may be able to drain the tank if we move it. I think this probably could be so, but we will never know for sure until we move it.

After asking for Seaman's help, my friend began to move the rock. Seaman pushed and he pulled, and the rock began moving. It didn't get very far though, before Seaman said he was tired. So we stopped to rest.

After giving the last remaining Seaman a name, SHE now, also turned gold. At least it's not a total loss. Spock says that the previous Golden Child doesn't feel bad, he's insuring the survival of the species.

Day 10

And the waters were parted...

With one mighty push, the rock was finally moved. As we suspected, the water drained from the tank, except for the lower part on the right side.

This is where Seaman made her new home. After talking to my friend about the internet and it's usage, she decided to head out to land.

We cheered for joy! Seaman was going to land finally!!!! We watched eagerly.

We forgot once more, that anything that happens with Seaman, like an evolutionary development, ends up in death.

She grunted and groaned as she pulled herself on to land. After walking around for a bit, she paused in one place for approximately 5 minutes.

We were confused, but then after a while 6 eggs popped out. Then she said "We'll I've done my job" and expired.

Our shock was quickly overcome by curiosity. We inspected the eggs. Inside contained tiny little tadpoles. We decided that this was a wonderful new evolution.

After a bit, they hatched and plip plopped into the water. They still retain all communication capabilities and memories of the parent. Spock calls them Tadmen.
