Twenty-eight years later as Chakotay's shuttle flew threw a wormhole he thought about everything that had happened since that day .........as the borg materialized on-board his first instinct had been to grab his phaser...but it wasn't there, it was still in his pack in the back. Before he knew it he had been assimilated. Part of his conscience knew when the Delta Flyer exploded that something important had just happened, but he was beginning to forget just what that was. The borg vessel jumped back to trans-warp and continued on its way.....Chakotay pulled himself to the present long enough to re-check his status but the memories pulled him back......After about four years of borgdom he had boarded a federation vessel while on-board he had been 'damaged' and left behind when the ship proved to be enough of a match for the small borg vessel....After five years of surgery and therapy he was coming along but he still had nightmares....memories of voices....and memories of sensing, seeing, hearing, (he wasn't sure still which he experienced) Katherine's shuttle explode...he knew what happened now, he had lost her and not even realized it...that was still the hardest part for him, knowing that she had died and he hadn't felt anything. It took him the next seven-teen years to find the wormhole. Starfleet still hadn't come any closer to finding them but refused to try and send a ship through such an unsteady wormhole they weren't even sure came out anywhere near where voyager might be...So the last two years he had spent trying to find a shuttle he could use....He knew Starfleet thought that he was crazy but he had to go back....he had to know what had happened to the others.

   Two weeks later as Naomi sat in the Captain's chair on her night shift wishing for at least a little excitement....
   ''LT., we are being hailed, audio only"
    'finally' she thought to herself but said aloud "put it through"
    "Voy....this is....Cha....ay......I......ting....twen....ears to see......."
    "Is that the best we can do Ensign?" She asked.
   The ensign in question tapped on the panel some more, "try it now"
    "This is LT. Naomi Wildeman of the Federation Starship Voyager. Please re-identify yourself."
    "This is Chakotay and I come from Voyager as well....but its been a while."

   Chakotay was greeted as he stepped of the transporter by a young woman with dark hair, and a blue uniform. "I am Arianna. I would like to Welcome you home on behalf of Captain Paris and Voyager. Normally She or Commander Kim would have greeted you, or LT. Wildeman of course but..." Chakotay cleared his throat.
   "I'm sorry. I have a tendency to run on a bit when I get nervous. Please follow me."
    "Where are we going?"
    "We are going to see the Captain....and some others."
    They started towards the door when he stopped, "Who is the Captain now? I heard you say Captain Paris...."
   Arianna sighed "The Captain is....married to Tom's son...Are you coming or not?"
   "After you."
In the turbolift Chakotay was still curious, "Tom had a son?"
Arianna turned and looked at him, "Yes, he and B'lanna have two children. Owen and James."
"Who else?"
"What do you mean who else?"
   "I mean who else got married, had children, who died, anything?"
"You don't ask for a lot do you? Just 28 years condensed to 5 minutes. Let's see after you were lost, we lost Tuvok, and Meg Delany, and others of course too, about ten years ago we lost the EMH. Kes and Neelix's son Kessix is now the CMO."
    Just then the turbolift stopped and the doors opened. As they started down the hallway he stopped her, "It's okay, I can be filled in later." Arianna stopped in front of a door and turned to him. "Before we go in there you should know something; when you were assimilated and the borg blew up the Delta Flyer...Voyager managed to beam out the Captain just in time...''
"I figured that out the minute I stepped off the transporter."
   Arianna blushed a little. "how did you... i mean i..."
   Chakotay smiled "It wasn't too hard considering except for your hair color and age you could be her..."
   As the doors opened all Chakotay saw was Katherine. He hurried to her and kissed her until he heard a cough coming from behind him,"I'll be outside when you need me", Arianna said before slipping out the door. Pulling back just far enough to look at her he grinned, "You have no idea how happy I am at this moment." and he hugged her again.
"Actually, considering that I didn't know you were alive until two days ago I think I do."
She smiled "Chakotay, we have some catching up to do."
