PLEASE NOTE: THIS WAS WRITTEN BEFORE I SAW BASICS PART TWO. AND BECAUSE I HADN'T SEEN THAT I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT SESKA WAS KILLED. ONCE I SAW THAT EPISODE THOUGH I RE-WROTE THIS STORY AS AN A/U TYPE OF DEAL TO MAKE IT MAKE MORE SENSE. I HAVE SEEN IT NOW AND I AM AWARE THAT I CHANGED SOME OF THE DETAILS DRAMATICALLY,I DID THAT ON PURPOSE. ALTHOUGH WHEN I SAY WRITE I MOSTLY MEAN IMAGINED IT BECAUSE WELL IT HAS TAKEN ME ALMOST 5 YEARS TO WRITE ANYTHING DOWN. AND IF I WERE TO READ IT A FEW TIMES I MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIX IT BUT I DON'T LIKE READING MY OWN WORK TOO MUCH SO UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE NOTICES SOMETHING IT IS STAYING THE WAY IT IS. I)FOR NO APPARENT REASON, OTHER THAN JUST TO FURTHER THE STORY LINE, AFTER 30 YEARS IN THE DQ (WHICH I HAVE FINALLY, AFTER READING THAT MANY TIMES, COME TO REALIZE MEANS DELTA QUADRANT AND NOT DAIRY QUEEN, NO I'M NOT AN ICE CREAM ADDICT. REALLY I'M NOT. I'M JUST SLOW SOME DAYS, BUT I DID NOTICE SOMEWHERE,I FORGOT WHERE I SAW SOMEONE WHO THOUGHT OF THE SAME THING, I AM NOT ALONE) VOYAGER HAS HAD NO CONTACT WITH EARTH LET ALONE GOTTEN THERE YET. J) THE END SHOULD HAVE ANOTHER LINE OR TWO TO ROUND OF THE STORY BUT I CAN'T THINK OF ONE SO.......

Chakotay watched as the captain worked at the control panel of the Delta Flyer, mental urging her to hurry and be done so he could have her to himself once again. "Are you sure I can't help with anything?"
Katherine shook her head and laughed, "For the fourth time...NO"
Chakotay drummed his fingers on the arm of his chair and flashed her one of his devastating dimple grins, "Will you at least give me some sort of hint why we are out here?"
"No"
He went back to mentally urging her to hurry. As she worked her lip twitched as she tried not to smile at his impatience. It seemed like it should be quite obvious that she just wanted some time alone with him...after all in the last three weeks since they had started seeing each other they had only had five nights they had been able to spend together.
   Finally she finished and turned to him. Chakotay leaned forward to pull her to him when her com-badge chirped.
   "LT. Tuvok to Captain Janeway, we just detected a borg vessel appear near your co-ordinates"
   The captain straightened up and started to check when the Delta Flyer was hit. Katherine hit her head on the control panel and passed out just as two borg materialized on the Flyer.

   Two days later She woke up in sickbay. Kes hurried over "Captain we were beginning to worry." She tapped her com-badge "Kes to LT. Tuvok, She just woke up."
   She started to try to sit up but abandoned that idea immediately. She groaned "Ugh, how long have I been here?"
   "About two days."
   "Two days !? What happened? Were is Chakotay?"
   "You should probably wait to talk to Tuvok about this"
Just then the doors opened and Tuvok walked in "Captain, It is good to see you are awake. Do you remember what happened?"
   "No. the last thing I remember is your com-call. Where is Chakotay?"
   "The Commander was not on the the shuttle when we beamed you out...It is logical to assume that he was assimilated or killed . The borg blew up the Delta Flyer so we cannot accurately say which. I am ....sorry."
