Kashyyyk Kup
So you think you have what it takes to be a swoop racer? Then why not compete for one of the most elite prizes in swoop racing – the Kashyyyk Kup.

Join in the fun as you speed over 10 different courses and pit your skills against other wannabe swoop jockeys. Guide your bike over open plains, treacherous mountains, and serene waterways. Finish with the lowest cumulative time after the last race and you'll walk away with the prestigious Kashyyyk Kup.

Rules
I know everyone hates reading through boring old rules, but please take a few minutes to read through the boring old rules. I want to make sure that the races are fun and fair to everyone.

  • The Kashyyyk Kup consists of 10 races. The person with the lowest cumulative time at the end of the 10th race wins the Kup and whatever prizes go with it. Prizes will also be given to the second and third place contestants.

  • Races will be held every week or two. I will let everyone know ahead of time when and where the next race will be held. The plan at the moment is to hold one race each time, but if people are available and want to do another one, we might go ahead and hold a second race. The races will most likely take place on weekends, but I'll try to alter the times a bit. The courses take place on the “original” SWG worlds, so you you can still compete even if you don't have the expansion packs.

  • Scores and standings will be posted on this website after each race.

  • I realize that not everyone will be able to make every race, so I will schedule makeup races periodically. I may even do this ad-hoc as people are logged in and available.

  • The vast majority of the race courses go out into the wild and as such you may encounter some nasty creatures and even hostile factional NPCs. Although I haven't purposely placed waypoints near factional bases, you never know where factional NPC's may spawn. I would strongly suggest that you go on leave before coming to the race. If you have a non-aggro character, such as a Trader or Entertainer, I would suggest racing with him or her, so you won't have to worry about being attacked by creatures during the race.

  • If real life interupts you in the middle of a race (phone call, doorbell, etc.) and you are unable to finish, you will be allowed to do a makeup race.

  • You will NOT be allowed to run again if you have trouble completing the race due to some in-game event, such as a bounty hunter coming after you, your bike getting stuck between some trees, accidently jumping off your bike, or getting attacked during the race.

  • If you do not finish the race because of in-game reasons, or you decide to give up on a race, your score for that race will be entered as a time of 3000.0. You are much better off just finishing the race, even if you have get stuck a few times. Your score will still be better than the 3000.0 time.

  • Only bikes and landspeeders are allowed.

  • The race will begin after I program the droid and initialize it. I'd ask that you stagger your starting times so that it makes it easier for me to write down your finishing times without 4 or 5 people ending at the same time. You are racing against the clock, not each other, so it doesn't matter if you start at different times.

  • You are welcome to run each race as many times as you like, however, only your first time will be counted as the official time. I tend to put waypoints in odd and interesting places, so I want the element of surprise to be at play. Surprises can lead to all sorts of fun timings and make for some unexpected lead changes.

  • Please do not discuss the course with people who have not raced it yet. See the point about surprises above.

  • No new registrants will be allowed into the competition after the 3rd race. They are welcome to try out the tracks after we have finished a race, but their times will not be counted.

  • Any situations requiring tie breakers will be decided by a chance cube (in the case of two people) or a 100-sided die for multiple people. Any other problems or situations that cannot be resolved with chance cubes or dice will be decided by me. My ruling is final (it's not wise to upset a Wookiee, remember).

  • As the race coordinator, I reserve the right to exclude or disqualify anyone from the competition. This race is only being promoted among known friends and guilds, so I don't anticipate any problems.
