Techniques
Shouki: Or, Miasma. Probably his most used technique, Naraku has the ability to create a poison-like fog.
Kugutsu: Or, puppets. One of the things that the inu-tachie learned was that Naraku rarely went out on his own; choosing to send these puppets of his out instead. It looks/acts/and sounds just like Naraku.
Detachments: After Naraku gained more of the Shikon no Tama, he learned how to create various 'detachments'.
Saimyoushou: Or, poison insects. Naraku has the ability to control the poison-like wasps. Mostly, they seem to follow his detachments, or Kohaku when they go out on assignments.
Barriers: Most of the reason why Naraku's whereabouts always remain hidden is because of the fact that he can create barriers. Inuyasha's red Tessaiga was able to break through a couple of these, but after Naraku returned from Mt. Hakurei, his barriers became stronger once again.
Shape-shifting: While this has only been used about three times, as far as I know, Naraku apparently does have this technique. He used this once against Inuyasha, once against Kikyou (that's how he caused them to betray each other), and once against Miroku's father.
Family
The only "family" we ever learn about, are his detachments. So far, they include Kanna, Kagura, Goshinki, Kageromaru, Juuromaru, Musou, Akago, and Hakudoushi.
Personality
Naraku is very manipulative, and cold. He seems to gain the most satisfaction when watching people suffer. In short, he is evil. Simple as that. He is not misunderstood, he is not good underneath it all, he is just plain evil.
