I was a general assignment reporter for Channel 7 for 31 years, spanning an era that saw huge anti-Vietnam war rallies, the Great Chelsea Fire, the tragic Delta crash at Logan Airport, the Great Blizzard of '78, the rise and fall of legendary politicians, some spectacular court cases (most notably that of Claus Von Bulow), the battle over the use of nuclear-generated power in Seabrook, New Hampshire (for which I won Emmy's in two separate years), the visits of the Tall Ships, Pope John Paul II, and Queen Elizabeth II, the visit of Nobel-prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa, the Clintons on Martha's Vineyard, and more. I covered every kind of news and event, including live spot reporting, politics, crime, and features. |
