Poo Trail #2277
We adopted Mari on October 15, 2002 from Cavy Companions in Bellevue, WA. I was in Bellevue doing a college fair as a representative of The George Washington University, my undergraduate alma mater. I went to visit Mary, my friend who runs Cavy Companions and was oogling over her teddy pig Peaches. Mary mentioned that she had a teddy being fostered right then and I decided that that pig HAD to come home with me.
Mari was named Marigold at that time. Mary, my friend, described Marigold as a beautiful pig with a great disposition who LOVES people. I was sold, sight unseen. So we arranged for me to go meet Mari and bring her home. Within one day she was adjusted to her new home and bossing her new slaves around. She is a white and brown, Dutch colored Teddy.
She insists upon getting attention and treats. Everytime one of us walks past her cage we have to give her a skritch and she MUST have lap time at least two times a day. My new little girl will never fill the hole that Pika left when she died, but Mari has demanded her own spot in my heart and has been given it willingly.
We decided to change her name to Mari Goldpig, since she seemed to respond to the name Mari, but not so much to Marigold. So we kept the "gold" part and just made that part of her last name.
