Many centuries ago, your species began to venture into the depths of space. Your decendants were among the first to colonize your first new planet. Humanity was a mere speck against the "big sceme of things," but with your new technology, that began to change. Soon, the human race was a major power in this galaxy.
For hundreds of years, your people knew peace and thrived. Your reach stretched far from earth... and indeed, most of members of your species were born far from your homeworld.
But this was not meant to last. Quite recently, colony after colony has unexplicably lost contact with the outside worlds. Individuals and governments alike are becoming increasingly nervous. And the problem isn't limited to humanity's outposts; other species are experiencing the same thing.
If the problem is not found and rectified, war could breakout... and that would be devistating for all involved.
