Welcome to the birds area of the nature section. Here, I have listed ( along with the information and if possible, the photographs ) the birds I have so far spotted on the tekdi. Almost all of them are common ones, and can be spotted by anyone with a good eye and a decent pair of binoculars. Some of the more spectacular ones don't even need binocs to be identified. Alongwith their information and pics, i have also stated the location where it has been spotted on the tekdi, it's marathi name, and 'spotting' category ( difficulty level in spotting the particular bird on the tekdi ), which runs as follows :

1. Very Easy - can be spotted and identified very easily without binocs

2. Easy - can be spotted easily, but you hhave to look around and keep your eyes open

3. Moderate - requires a bit of patience, and often, luck

4. Difficult - requires a bit of searching around, not usually seen on the main pathways of the tekdi.  Most of these birds are shy and don't like humans around them. Many of them are also seasonal, like the herons and ducks which can be seen during those 2-3 months when the quarry has some ponds due to rain water.
