| Hey there and welcome to Kerry and Angela's Website. So glad you decided to drop in and take a look around. We sincerely hope you enjoy your time here and ask that you keep dropping in from time to time to see the different things that will be going up in the future. I've dedicated this page to telling what I label as "Our Story". It is as follows: Angela and I met in the UPCI Chatroom known as #ApostolicYouth in the early part of the year 2000. We met in there in the month of January and began talking to one another and got to know each other quite well. At that time I was dating a gal from North Carolina, but things were not looking too good at that point. I felt that it was only a matter of time before it would be over and done with. Angela never pushed her way into my life, but was a great friend that would allow me to open my heart to her and she would in return do the same for me. That really appealed to me and when the day came that I broke up with the lady in North Carolina, I then asked Angela if she would like to call sometime. So she did call me, and I know that most folks have a big deal over the guy calling the girl instead of vice versa. But I told her to do so, and if she didn't feel comfortable with me after doing it, then we didn't have to worry that I had her number and all of the problems that could come with that. So she called and we talked forever!!! LOL. After that day I don't think a day went by that one of us didn't call the other for some period of time. In fact, one day in particular we talked for a record 12 hours LOL. Needless to say, I thank the Lord for phone cards that have a one cent a minute rating. After talking for a couple of months via the phone as well as the computer, we began talking about meeting. We both come from very conservative churches and we both felt that before we made the plans to meet, we should both approach our pastors concerning it. So finally I got the courage and approached my pastor following one service and asked him if he would mind me going to Washington to meet a young lady. He asked the preliminary questions and wanted to know who's church she attended and all that. I told him and he said that because he knew of the pastor and was in reality good friends with him, he said he didn't mind. So Angela at that time approached her pastor in WA, and the news was just as I had. We began making plans to meet and agreed to meet on March 9th of the year 2000. I had my plane tickets ready and I was ready as well. Things got going and I headed to WA. I ended up having problems when I was coming into Los Angeles, CA when I found out that I missed my plane connection. So with that happening, and to make a long story short, I ended up not getting to WA until 3 am their time when I was supposed to come in at 11pm that previous evening. But I got there and went to a telephone booth to call her. She answered her cell phone and said, "Where are you?" I told her what happened, and she told me she was still there at the airport. I gave her the general area that I was at and before I could get off the phone she said, "Look behind you". So I turned around and there she was. *GRIN* I was like wow! So we finally got all my belongings and headed out. She never did get to sleep that night LOL. She, her friend, and her friends mother ended up staying all night with me getting me settled and I ended up going to work with her that morning. Talk about being tired! Was I ever! I stayed in Washington for 11 days and got to meet her friends, church members, and family. It was a trip I'll never forget. Finally though, I got the courage to approach her pastor and ask his permission for me to date her. He looked at me and said, "Why else would you be here?". So on March 11th, 2000, we officially began dating. Unfortunately, the day came that I had to go home. It was a hard time for me mainly because I had had a great time and I fell in love with Washington. But we finally got to the airport, and she and her mother both said their goodbyes. I boarded the plane and came home. And you guessed it, as soon as I got home I was on the phone to her LOL. We talked for hours and began immediately to make plans for her to come to Arizona. We once again went to our pastors and let them know we wanted to meet again. So we finally settled on her coming in April. And that she did. I still remember going to the airport and her coming off the ramp. I was like in awe once again. She had originally planned on staying for about a week, but that took a wild turn. To sum it up somewhat, she never went home. Here's what happened. She was here for that week, and we had a marvelous time. But the day came when she was to go home and we had been discussing her coming and living her in AZ. On the way to the airport, we began talking more about it while my oldest brother sat in the back of the car. Before we knew it, I had missed the turn to the airport, and she had exactly 10 minutes to be AT the airport and ON the plane before it headed out. Needless to say, she didn't make it. She said, I'm staying. And that she did. She called her work back home in WA and said she wouldn't be back and then called her mother. My goodness, you should have heard that. LOL. Her mother was like Angela Nichole, what are you doing? But even though she and I did this on such short notice, God has provided and helped us continue on. There were and still will be some rough areas for us to iron out and to smooth out, but God has always said that He will give us the desires of our hearts. Not everyone has agreed with how we did things, and maybe in essence they are right. But what is done is done, and things must continue on. Now today, over five years later, she and I are still going strong and are about to celebrate our third wedding anniversary together. We were married on July 12th of 2002, which was also my parent's 40th wedding anniversary and my middle brother and his wife's 17th anniversary. On top of all that we recently relocated to University Place, Washington and have a great apartment in a great little community, and have started an at-home business called "K-n-A Unique Graphic Design". Angela recently, on September 22nd of 2004, 2 days prior to MY birthday, gave birth to our first child - an 8 lb 7 oz little girl we named Savannah Nichole Disbennet. I will be posting pictures soon as I can get enough webtime to do so. Yes, we still have our "Other" baby, our Basset Hound named Judah. LOL. Had you worried didn't I? We did have to put our "Other Baby" named Jaydah to sleep back in July of 2004. We dearly miss her and will never forget her due to the place she has in our hearts. Currently, Angela and I are attending Soul's Harbor Apostolic Church in Tacoma, WA under the pastorate of Bro. Craig Sissel. Angela is singing in the choir now and I've been nominated to play the stand up bass and bass guitar in our 4 man bluegrass quartet. Well that's just a short version of "Our Story". If you would like to ask questions concerning any aspect of it, please feel free to drop me a line by emailing me at [email protected] . Please keep on looking at the rest of the site. There's a lot more! Please sign our Guestbook as well. We'd appreciate it. God bless you all in Jesus name. -- Micah 7:8 -- |
