After that the others also went to take a shower and when they got back, we went out to grab some dinner. Today nobody had to cook and James bought us pizza with the money that was still in the foodkitty. I think we ate 6 or 7 pizzas for 14 people. We were all quite hungry after such a long and tiring hike. After dinner we went back to camp and started a campfire. It started to drizzle a bit but that couldn't stop us.
Day 14: 10/10/00 ==>Free day at Yosemite and also last day of trekking.
Today was going to be a nice relaxing day for the most of us. Only Jon, James and Orsi decided to go on another hike to the top of Yosemite Falls. The rest just spend the day lingering around the camp or doing some laundry. Rudy and me decided to do a bit of shopping in the Valley and in the afternoon we would rent a bike and cycle around the park for a while.
Today was also the day we would celebrate the birthday of Pascal. After dinner we brought him a cake with some candles on it. It had the age 84 on it, because he always said he was 84 years old. Pascal also made his now famous BJ and he and Will tried them out. After that we stayed around the campfire and around 12.00 pm we all went to sleep. We still had a ride towards San Francisco ahead of us tomorrow. |
