After returning my bike to the rental shop I picked up some T-shirts and a little plush beaver for my little sister in town.
Back at the campground I took a nice warm shower and then it was our time to cook dinner. We(Sarah, Jon, Edith and me) made tagliatelli carbonara with white cheesesauce and white wine and also with a nice tomato salad.
After the dishwashing we all went for a drink in the local saloon. That day we went quite early to bed around 12 pm.
Day 8: 4/10/00 ==> Big drive to Moab and Arches Natl. Park.
Today we had to get up real early at 6 am because we had decided last night to go to Moab and Arches Natl. Park. We would skip Lake Tahoe(nothing to do; closing for the season) and Monterrey(wasn't on the itinerary in the first place).
But it was difficult for the most of us to get out our tents. It wasn't because we hadn't had much sleep, but because it was very cold that morning. During the night it was -1�C and when we woke up in the morning our tent was totally frozen. But we managed to get on the road around 7.10 am(only 10 min. later than expected). |
