After dinner we learned to count to 13 in Navajo by Genevieve. And then Vincent, Blair and Stacy entertained us with Indian style dancing and singing. Although I don't think that the songs they were singing were also though at school. They kinda made the songs up as they were singing, kinda like a rapsong but then Navajo-style.
That night some of us slept in the tents while others slept on the rim under the stars. Jessy and me stayed in the tipi. We had plenty of room because normally there could sleep at least about 10 people in it.
Day 7: 31/8/01 ==> Sunrise over Monument Valley + hike back out + drive to Mesa Verde.
Sunrise was again very awesome. Took some last pictures of us all in the tipi and then went to the only toilet up there. But what a view you had on it. No doors, just a tree behind you and the whole valley in front and besides you. And then the hike back down towards the jeep and the reminder of Monument Valley. We had lunch on our way out of the park on the side of the road. Took some last pictures of the road to Monument Valley, Jessy needed more then 5 minutes to take her pictures because there were cars coming and she didn't want any car in her picture!!! |
