Drove to Mesa Verde. We all took a very refreshing shower because it was at least 2 days ago. When the others went for a swim and a dip in the hot tub, I looked over some of the pictures Sanj took the last couple of days. He has a digital camera if you're wondering :-)
For dinner we had some fried rice with eggs, an idea from Ryohei. After dinner we talked a bit and even heard Tim snore in his tent. When we told him in the morning he wouldn't believe us, but we had 3 witnesses.
Day 8: 1/9/01 ==> Mesa Verde + drive to Dead Horse Point.
We took a guided tour of Spruce Tree House to see some cliff dwellings. Brooke picked off a needle from a tree to show us something but the guide saw it and became quite mad! She asked Brooke where she was from and she told the guide Germany. And then the guide made a remark about the rest of us 'Germans' not understanding her 'American' good enough. We all had a good laugh about it afterwards.
Then we did a self-guided tour of Cliff Palace, another cliff dwelling.
This was probably the least interesting place we visited during our trip.
