Juventus visited Malta on three
occasions. Twice for European Cup Matches and once for a friendly match
against a Maltese league selection. On all three occasions Juventus
received more than a warm welcome by the numerous local supporters and the local
Juventus Supporters Club. Memories of these visits occupy an important
space in my musem and I have tried to collect the most important material from
such historical events for us Maltese fans of Juventus.
La Juventus e' stata a
Malta finore tre volte.

According
to the influential Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello
Sport", this was the first visit of Juventus to the island
but the welcome was so awesome that it seemed like a national
feast for the island. Juventus played and delighted the
packed "Empire Stadium" with a superb
performance. The shirt from the matched played in Malta is
one worn by Helmut Haller who, when substituted in the second
half was given a standing ovation.
Secondo "La Gazzetta dello

This was
another festive occasion for Maltese Enthusiasts who gave an
astounding welcome once again to their heroes. This time
the match was played in the 'Ta' Qali Stadium' and it was
another memorable performance for the many supporters of
Juventus not only from Malta but also the many Sicilian
supporters who traveled to Malta to see the match. The
shirt in the museum is the one from the return match in Turin
worn by Welsh striker Ian Rush.

SELECTION 1-JUVENTUS 5
Terza Visita dicembre
1998
Amichevole 'Trofeo
Malta'. SELEZIONE DI LEGA 1 - JUVENTUS 5
Another
memorable day for the Maltese Juventus fans. This time it
was a friendly match by nonetheless the enthusiasm was that of a
"European Cup Final victory welcome" according to an
Italian newspaper. Once again the venue was the 'Ta' Qali'
Stadium packed as usual and a feast it was where Juventus once
again were in a class of their own. Zinedine Zidane was
playing his first match as European Footballer of the year and
his class was felt together with captain Antonio Conte, whose
shirt is hanging in my museum and who collected the handsome
trophy at the end of the match from the President of the
Republic of Malta.
