Comments: A 20-year-old Bob Dylan taks about his career to date, his upcoming first album, and plays songs intended to capture the essence of what he's been doing so far. I think it's incomplete, however.

Comments: A great show. The sound is a little rough for the first song or two, while they set the levels. Bob seems almost to work the soundcheck into the show, getting 30 seconds into songs and then stopping to retune. He keeps requesting harmonicas in different keys, and seems to have some sort of private joke about scalpels. Good stuff.

Comments: The famous Halloween concert. It's a great show and the audience interaction is a lot of fun. Unfortuantely, the last few seconds of It Ain't Me Babe are cut, and it's missing All I Really Want to Do.

D: All I Really Want To Do / It's Alright Ma, I'm Only Bleeding / Forever Young / The Times They Are A-Changin' // Filler: Blind Willie McTell performed by The Band
Comments: An amazing setlist and quite a good audience recording. Includes a very agressive version of Ballad Of A Thin Man, and a great Maggie's Farm. For those unfamiliar with Dylan's sound in 1978, it's sort of like disco and funky rock with a violin and blues licks. Never let it be said that Bob picked one style and stuck to it...

B: Tangled Up In Blue / When I Paint My Masterpiece / Joey / 'Till I Fell In Love With You / Highway 61 Revisited (with Sheryl Crow) / Knockin' On Heaven's Door / Love Sick / Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35
Comments: My first experience with Bob's recent shows, and I'm pleasantly surprised. This is a great show, with no female backup singers (no offence meant to anybody whatsoever, but I find that style to be incredibly irritating). Some of the acoustic playing is a bit ragged around the edges, but everyone seems to be having a good time. The audience can almost never be heard during the songs.

Comments: This tape is weird. It's very good, but the title seems to have very little to do with the content. As near as I can tell, it's a few Rolling Thunder songs, plus some original versions of Blood On The Tracks material, plus the Newport '65 first electric concert, plus 3 duets with Joan Baez, possibly from the Hurricane Carter Benefit. Weird. I'll split it up properly very soon. A very worthwhile tape none the less.
