Scheveningen Beach in Stormy Weather, 1882

Here's one of Vinnie's earliest paintings.  Notice the large, rough brush strokes, especially in the clouds in the upper right corner.  You also notice the lack of detail in the figures, both the people and the horse.  Cool, though.  The painting reminds me of my childhood, growing up on the beaches of the south.  The colors are a perfect representation of a beach before a storm.  Traces of sand can still be seen in this painting from the stormy day it was created.
