ROUND EUROPE 2004

I was a lucky traveller in 2004, participation in two international conferences allowed me to go to Czech Republic and to Finland, and to relax I went to Moldova for another short stay in between; all the places I've never seen before. Some people I knew were all the time round there, so fortunately, I was not alone and it was never boring!

Czech Republic

In there, first thing we've chanced to was Prague, and the last thing, too. Prague is marvellous, a good example of a western european medieval city with classical gothic architecture:

Other styles are presented as well, for sure:

Smaller examples of modern art are everywhere...

Prague is great, the only thing I would complain is a lack of beer - no matter how much you drink, it's never enough.

On the other hand, the place is overcrowded with cows, but it's not such a great problem as with lack of beer. Only the best samples are shown here:

Anyway, we didn't miss our way in this mess and chanced to get to the Charles' Bridge. There is a small square in front of it, surrounded by a church, a tower and a statue of Charles IV:

On the both sides of Charles' Bridge, you may see the Vltava river.

Passing by the famous figures of Karlov Most (Charles' Bridge), among which there's St. Jan Nepomuk, we proceed to another arch leading further to the observation tower, while the sky is growing grey...

Hiding from the rain, finally we reach the observation tower...

...and observe the city of Prague:
