What a wonderful little town and congratulations to all the inhabitants for keeping it so original. Scagway looks and feels as if it has just stepped out of the 19th century but is so clean and all the buildings are so nicely looked after I am sure anyone would be proud to live there.
This street features the depot and shops, so neat and tidy and looking like they must have during the town's heyday.
What an ice-breaker. Such technology way back then to enable the rail lines to be cleared.
This building was built in 1899 and is in fabulous condition.

It was love at first sight between my daughter Jules and 'Walter' (the only moose we saw on our trip). Jules spotted Walter the first night on our cruise and just had to have him. Walter was a real personality in our cabin. He sat on the windowsill and watched the world (and lots of water) go by. I must admit that Walter is a very cute moose. Goodness knows what Glenn (Jules husband) thinks of him though. Walter was our mascot on the cruise and I think it only fitting that he scoots around our Alaska pages.
