| Peace in our Homes As women, we set the tone in our homes. Being a wife and/or mother has enormous respective and overlapping responsibilities. (Cooking, cleaning, taxi/shuttle service, etc.) Each day the world is getting worse and worse. Our families need the security of a peaceful home. Lets define Peace: Random House defines Peace as follows: The normal non warring condition of a nation, group of nations or the world. Period during which such a condition exists. An agreement or treaty that ends a war." Freedom from disorder. The Bible says: (from the Hebrew) Shalom meaning safe or perfect. To be complete or whole. The idea is one of wholeness, unity, fulfillment and good relationships. Shalom occurs about 250 times in the Tenach (Old Covenant). It would seem if we could achieve the Biblical definition of Peace the secular or dictionary definition of Peace would occur naturally. To achieve Biblical peace one must know the Author of peace personally Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. 2 Thesolonians 3:16 How can we receive this peace? First, you must know the Lord of Peace. His name is Jesus. His name means Salvation. "If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" 1John 1:9 "For God so loved the world, the He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him, will not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 "To as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who will believe on His [Jesus] Name." John 1:11 When we know Jesus as Saviour and Lord, we have within us the peace that surpasses all understanding. As a mom of 3 pre-schoolers I know all too well there is very little peace in our homes. Knowing Jesus makes every difference. You have nothing to loose and Eternal Life to gain. Jesus said that He came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. Eternal Life begins when you receive the gift of Salvation. The abundant life begins when you begin your walk with The Saviour. Jesus in your life can give you a home that knows peace and contentment Call upon Him, and He will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not yet know. Jeremiah 33:3 (tense changed) |
