I have two children of my own in school and its sad when your scared to even send your kids to school to get an education. I think when they started taking prayer out of schools, that was the first mistake, if you can't look to God and have any family values,What do you have???

I always knew that this certain school shooting was bad, but I never knew how bad until I read Misty Bernall's book about Cassie. That really got to me, I found myself crying for all the victims and even the shooters. They must have had problems to do som thing like that, I also admire Cassie alot for how she stood up to them. Answering 'yes' to a question like that coming from the shooters, she was ready and I think she knew what was going to happen. I really want to help, so if there is anything that I c n do, I want to help, so just e-mail me.

Watching the pictures was surereal at first it seemed like a bad dream was playing on tv. No one expects this to happen at school. Kids should be safe at schoool. I know i wasnt there and thank god it didnt happen at my school. But even a year later i th nk of it at times ideas run in my head suddenly like when i on way to class what would i have done if it started now or when i am aat an assembly i think ok what if were to happen now. thinking about it sends a chill down my back. Though due to the columb ne shooting the ottawa school board has a secure classroom drill and case this were to happen but theyre are holes in it like lunch time when it did happne at columbine. i know that it affected my school becuase the day after it happen most teachers were aving a discussion with their class of how the fill about it. so just becuase we werent there doesnt mean we werent affected. even though thankfully we arent affected like the students or teachers who whent there, we are still affected in a way

ok this is what really pisses me off about this whole thing. on your page the victims only show those who were killed by the gunmen, but what about the gunmen themselves? were they not victims of your abuse, torture, and crulety? if you havn't learned that they were also victims of this, you just havn't learned your lesson have you?

Hi, I'm working on a paper for my anthropology class about violence in America's youth. I was just trying to find out a little on this tradegy and I happened upon your web page. The reason why I am writing this is that when I saw the faces of the people that died, it truely hit me. I don't know if you were friends with them, or if you are a student of Columbine, but I just wanted you to know that your page truely touched me. I hope that it has the same affect on everyone else who logs on, because its affect on me was profound. Thank you,

I,m very sorry for what happened to your school and the sorrow that all of you are going through. I can't say I understand how you feel, because nothing like this has ever happened in our school. In my speech class we were asked to do a speech about anythi g we wanted to and I choose Columbine High. I don't think everyone in our school has a clue of what happened at Columbine. I didn't know myself until I sat down at the computer and started looking up some facts about what happened, I almost started crying because of the innocent victims and students that got hurt because of the senseless and horrifying incident. I just want to send my prayers to all of you and even though it has been a year I know it still hurts, but always remember that God will wipe all f the tears away and put all of yur problems in his hands. hello.....my name is Amber and i am in highschool and we were in the middle of class and we were told to put our books away and we were going to watch t.v. of course we thought this was going to be fun. but then we saw it was a special for the "columbine hooting" about 20 min's into it me and 6 other friends had to leave the room because we could not stop crying. we could not believe that actuall humans can perform such a matter of killing so many people that they saw everyday. so later on in the day we h d a special "drill" we all had to hit the floor and get up agenst the wall....as if there was a shooter in the school. doing that alone gave me such a fright! let alone doing it knowing that my life is at risk and everyday of my life just comes to me in o e great big hit! you have prob. got a lot of "im sorry's" and things like that- and some that seem as if they really dont care... but in actuallity....we care...greatly...and some of us more than others. but we do care. and if there is anything i can do/ or anyone who has anything to do or needs someone to talk to...i am here.....not tryn' to sound like some werido but i am here. and this goes out to all people who lost a luved one during this uncalled for shooting... it is not easy to lose someone...so e sily...over nothing. i am just sayn' this from my heart....not from experience....so i dont know half of what you are going through. but what we need to do is remember all the good times. that is what is important! like i said i am here for anyone who nee s to talk! -Amber

Hey I am a 15 year old high school student from Central Coast Australia which is an hour north of Sydney. In class we need to do modern living and societies and I decided that columbine high schools shooting was a worthwhile topic to share with my School and the community. I would like to know as much information as possible to get the correct facts on this incident. I know this may upset some student etc inthinking that I am to make a show out of it, I would just like to let them know I have no intention of doing that my only intention is to show my community the problems that arise in today's society. Please I would really love to meet a few of you especially josh the creater of the page (I think he is...hehehehe) I would like to keep in contact with a few of you and hopefully have friendships created from it (heh I don't really write like this but n e way) So can you all please e-mail me back ASAP because I would love to meet you guys. On April 20, of last year I saw how teenagers can impact the lives of many of thier peers. Now since the Columnbine shooting has occured our school has taken action and enforced a plan of action in case anything like this was ever to happen in our school It is sad to hear that kids my age could do something so awful and distructing. I don't think I could ever shoot a gun let alone shoot it at someone. In this message I send my sincere sympathy to the victim's families and to the the families of the mu derers. I send out my sincere sympathy to the murderers families for not being there when thier children needed them and since they were not there to talk and share with thier parents thier feelings they kept it bottled up and expressed thier anger towar thier parent to other peers and for that the victims families had suffer for the murderers parents mistake. All I have to say to the murderers families, you could have spent some time to hear what your kids were sharing with you so this tragic event wou d have never occured.

Hello, I don't know you and you don't know me but as a high school student i feel as though i need to say this. I was in rehearsal's for the musical "Annie" at the time when over the radio came the news of the Columbine tragedy. I was deeply saddened an didn't know all the details. As the day went on and the show was comming to and end, I was backstage listening to the radio as more details came in. I couldn't beleive my ears. I, still to this day, don't know why the two sick and twisted young monste s did what they did. The way that they dealt with their pain was compleatly inaprropriate. The two of them deserve to burn in hell and i don't care how sad their parents and familys are, they deserve it. The fact that they could have so much hate in th m to kill 13 innocent young kids is beyond me. If you don't like someone because of the way they treat you then you need to get help not commit murder. I don't know what else to say. I am fearful every day that an event like this will happen in my scho l. i pray it dosent but as columbine shows it CAN happen. Dan

I will never forget that day i was home from school sick. Watching something on tv and all of a sudden the news came on with "breaking news". Then they started talking about some students in the school with guns. I kept watching it, a couple hours later a bunch of kids my age started running out, thats when i lost it. My dad came home and he sat right down and watched it with me he started to cry (i barely ever see him cry). Then I just prayed to god to let all those kids come out alive. I couldn't leave t e living room i just kept watching it. The next morning I woke up early to watch the thing they had on the news with Isac's father and racheal's brother. I have never felt so much concern for people i've never met as i do for those families. It makes me s angre those two boys had absolutily NO right to take those lives the media keeps saying things about them being outcast. i really don't care nobody has a right to murder people speacially because a few kids teased them. my heart goes out to all the frien s and families of the coumbine and all the other school shootings.

When the news about the shooting was first put out on Television i have to admit that all i thought was: "Oh how sad, i hope it never happens to me." Not:"how must those poor people feel" or anything like that. I just carried on normal life. But i watched a television prigramme last night that changed my view completely. I will admit that i never really thought about the tragedy after it happened, yes i would remember it if the subject was brought up, but i guess i was a bit selfish because i should have paid more attention to it. I am the same age as some of the poor peo le that were killed. This television programme was about the Trenchcoat Mafia, and it has changed the way i look at tragedies like this. As the face of each victim appeared, my tears would get heavier, knowing that if it wasn't them it could have been me or any other High School Student. On the programme they then showed why they thought that the music that the murderers listened to may have caused them to go on this killing spree. I couldn't believe the pig headedness of the "Insane Clown Posse." They were ready to blame anyone but thems lves. They didn't even realise how effective the words of their stupid songs can be to some people. They didn't even take themselves seriously! Words in songs can have greater effect tha anything in the world. Rebellious teens would rather listen to these songs that listen to their own parents. What the "Inasane Clown Posse" Don't seem to realise it that people wnat to be just like them and if the people who listen to their music believe the words that these people say, there is nothing that anyone can do bout it. I have seen the way that people idolise Marily Manson, by wearing their hair the same as him, doing their makeup the same way as him, and even having their eyes the same colours as him. People are like this. If these rock stars can't take this th n i don't think that they should be in the business. Songs of their degree should be sensored. And now 441 days later i am hoping and praying thst a tragedy like this never ever happens again.

When the spirt of a child is broken then there is nothing left in the world. As a mother of three young children, I find myself wondering is this the fate that my children will have to indure. Did I bring them into this world to go through a life where they are teased and bullied and then later grow into angry people. Or that th re are angry children out there that will for some reason or another take their buetiful lives away. THe children of this world are our future. Their lives should be filled with joy and happiness and not haterd and sorrow. We as parents must do all tha we can to make sure that the spirt of our children are never broken. That they know everyday that their lives have meaning. Tell your children how much you love them everyday and that no matter what the world may say about them that they are the light f this world. Without the light form a child's smile the world would be a dark place and with out the sound of the laughter the world would be silenced.

It was really shocking to hear about the shooting. I used to live in Colorado and I had a boyfriend that lived there too. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for the loses that happened at the high school. God is with you all. Hopefully this year has got a lot better and things are going wonderful for all the tudents and staff. Good luck in everything you guys do and hope to do. All our prayers are with you. I think that is scary too because I was going to go to that high school even though I'm a freshman at this high school in California. Thank you for taking time out to read this little note of mine.

I stumbled across your website Josh, and as I was reading the various messages from other guests, one in particular caught my attention. It stated that people do not want to punish their kids anymore, and this is the beginning of the violent or criminal ehaviors we are seeing in kids today. I have this to say: Education MUST begin in the home. Unfortunately, parents are not as educated as we should hope. Previous generations used violence to correct their children, and it is just continueing. When I look into the big blue eyes of my 4-year-old, the last thing I want to do is yell or hit him. I treat him with respect, you know, like being a role model rather than a punisher. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone communicated with respect, from the beginni g? Parents, we need to be positive role models for our children. And to the rest of the world, don't judge diversity. I may not be like you, but I have great qualities that maybe you lack, or vice versa. We should all welcome diversity, and turn our b cks (and our ears) from judgements and negativity. We have to start somewhere. When I hear someone making snide remarks about what another is wearing, or how they look, etc., I begin to defend, even a complete stranger, against the person who is making he remarks. I don't care if that person is my best friend, my husband, or a complete stranger. I make sure they realize that it isn't their place to make those comments aloud. Think what you will, but censor your mouth. You never know who is listening and how they will react. We're all in this world together, so let's make the best of it, shall we? Cheryl

Could you please forward a copy of my note to your school nurse? I was so impressed to see her professional manner during what had to be the ultimate requirement of any school nurse. Her professionalism made me even more proud to share my profession with people like her who put our kid's safety first and formost. We can't help but fall in love with all the students that we care for daily. One of the first things we are taught is to servey the scene to insure our own personal safety when responding to tr age, but we seldom put anyone first but our kids. As unbelievable as it may sound one of our own schools was rocked to the core with three middle school students who were planning a "copycat" hit on numerous students and several teachers, this happened Monday. Thank God a wonderfully loyal student becam aware of the situation and annonimously(sp)? contacted people who could and did respond quickly enough to stop another Columbine from happening. The two older boys are under "house arrest" but the thirteen year old girl is so severely irrational she cou d not be released. We also just yesterday had three students passing a loaded handgun from one to the other and it discharged striking one child in the head. While a school nurse is given confidential information, it is very hard to decide what needs to e acted upon and what can be handled by counceling. Please accept by deepest sympathies for the young student who took his own life. No one can totally know what secret fears and sorrows dwell in the deepest parts of a person's mind. Remember that the nation still weeps for all of you and we keep you in our prayers.

I feel bad for the all familes and friends that tragically lost loved ones. That also includes Eric Harris' and Dylan Klebold's (sp?) parents. I saw a comment about there not being enough discipline in the family anymore, and that the Harris' and Klebold's (sp?) didn't care about the situation.Well that's not necessiarly true in all situations and maybe it doesn't hold true to this one. From what understand (just hear say mind you),Dylan's parents were not bad parents at all.I understand that it's obvious they were wreckless in their acts, but that could have also spawned from other situations besides their family not giving them attention. Then ag in maybe not. All I know is that it's a tragedy that all of this happened, and I pray to God that this can be prevented in the future. Thanks for taking the time out to read this.Whoever else is besides me. Toodles for now and God bless all! Erin (AKA Angelspice)

Nobody pulls together until it effects everyone. That's sad. Don't just pass by kids getting picked on, beat up, spit on, stuff being thrown at them. It doesnt take much to make a stand for someone, but it does mean you will have to give up being selvish. People are being pushed to the brinks if you step in maybe you can help them step back!

Man, Just reading about Cassie and watching her video on the discovery channel on April 20, 2000 made me really think. She said, "Just to live for Christ and to get rid of all hypocrisy". Man that puts conviction on me like nothing I have ever felt before. am a young man who struggles with certain things in my life. I do love the lord but when I heard what she said and the life that she gave, it made me give a deeeper commitment to the lord. I pray and know that one day I will meet her in heaven. Until hat day she will be an inspiration to me. Amen. For it is pleasing to the lord of the death of his Godly ones. It makes me cry out, Wake up america, Wake up for trully we are desolate. Wake up and cloth yourselves with righteousness. Lay down your l wless works and seek my face with unity. Oh America a land that once flowed with milk and honey. Now you flow with Hypocrisy and Adultry. Oh my dear beloved how I long to show my self unto you in trueness and holyness. Wake up SLEEPING BEAUTY. Forever in his love, Matthew

My comment on Columbine and any other violence in today's schools is due to the lack of discipline in today's families. No body punishes their kids anymore, because they are in fear that DSS will be called on them to take their kids away. If the parents o those two boys that were the prime suspects of the Columbine High School shooting actually cared about their kids this situation could have been avoided. There are others to blame too. The Police Department, for not responding to any of the calls made pr or to the shooting about the noise being heard in the back yard; the school's staff, if it wasn't for them outcasting select individuals (and trust me it happens I was one of those outcasts in my Junior High class.); and the students, who may have (or may not have) picked on those outcasts. Everyone is at fault for the violence in today's country; the parents, the schools, the high schools, the colleges, the police, the politicians, the President of the U.S.A., and the Vice President. These are the top can idates for today's violence being so high. Remember it all starts at home and then progresses into the world. This is my comment on this subject. And remember this is just my opinion, do not take this offensively. I am just acting out my First Amendment.< r>
