Cook:
2 cups chopped dates
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup water until thick
Add 1 cup nuts (pecans are great)

Mix top ingredients together. Drop teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet and press flat. Put on date filling. Add more dough on top of each one. Bake at 375 for aproximately 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
CHEESY POTATOES
(These are my grandsons favorite. This recipe is one of his mothers specialties)

6 med. sized potatoes, peeled, sliced and cooked til almost tender
salt and pepper to taste
Put them into a greased casserole dish
In a saucepan Put:
1 10oz. can or Cream of celery or any cream soup you like
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. warm water
1/2 lb. Velveeta Cheese cut into chunks
Heat until cheese melts (don't boil)

Pour mixture over the potatoes
(Garlic, onions, or whatever else you think of to add are optional)
Stir, cover and bake at 400 degrees for one hour.
Just before serving Mix:
1 16 oz. container of sour cream
1 small pkg. of cream cheese (softened)
Mix lightly into the potatoe mixture and Serve!




PUMPKIN BREAD

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
3 !/2 c flour
3 c sugar
2 tbl soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ground cloves
Sift above  ingredients into large bowl
Stir in:
1 c oil
2 c pumpkin
2/3 c milk or water
4 eggs
nuts and raisons are optional
(the more the better, pecans are great)
Bake in 1 lb coffee cans or loaf pans
1 hour or until golden brown in color.
Try this. You'll Love it!
TURKEY DRESSING
(my 40 year old recipe my husband won't let me change)

2 loaves french bread
Tear in pieces the day before and put into large roaster and leave in oven on 100 degree setting til evening. Toss lightly several times during the day. The next morning:
1 1/2 sticks oleo melted in large skillet
Add 7 boullion cubes
2 c celery chopped
2 c onions chopped
2  1lb. Pkgs. bulk Italian Sausage
