Yamaguchi
Momoe was born in a hospital at Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. A 8-month premature
baby, she weighted a mere 2800g.
Right
after being discharged from the hospital, she was left in the care of her
maternal grandparents. Momoe has many fond memories, as her grandparents
and auntie doted on her.

Momoe
passed the 1st and 2nd qualifying rounds of "Star Tanjo" at the Yomiuri
Hall in Yuraku-cho, Tokyo. She was chosen (out of almost 700) for the preliminary
round. |

at Kourakuen Hall too. Momoe sang "Kaiten Mokuma" and came in 2nd. After
which, she recieved some 11 name cards of different recording companies
that were interested in signing her as their artiste. |

Momoe made her debut as
an actress with TBS TV drama "Keiji-kun". |

Tomokazu formally proposed
to Momoe in Hawaii. Momoe accepted his proposal promptly. She even suggested
that she would retire after their marriage. |

Momoe announced her relationship
with Miura Tamokazu during her concert at Osaka Kousei Nenkin Hall. |

Momoe and Tomokazu held
a press conference to announce their wedding date and Momoe's plan to retire
