How It Works
Here are the steps:

1.  You decide which movie package you would like.
2.  We talk on the phone or by e-mail and decide on a date, time, and location.
3.  On the day of filming, we will come out between half an hour to an hour to review the location and get to know the "actors", and plan some of the upcoming shots.
4.  We shoot the movie.
5.  We return to our office and edit the movie.
6.  We email you updates on how the movie is coming along.
7.  We mail you the movie and any extra copies you order.
8.  You sit back, relax, and enjoy your priceless momento.
Things to consider:

Our goal is to create a 5 minute movie.  However, many factors play into each situation - the story line, the cooperation of the "actors", the weather, the location - that could either slow down the filming process or speed it up.  Therefore, we cannot guarantee the movie to be exactly 5 minutes.  It could be shorter or longer depending on how the day plays out.

Filming for a 5 minute movie will generally take 4 hours.  Again, depending on certain factors, it could be shorter or longer.  If we foresee the filming to take longer than 4 hours, we will inform you and give you the option of extending it by either coming back another day or if our schedule allows it, continuing that day (extra fees apply for time extensions).  However, we will do everything in our power to accomplish the task within the 4 hour time frame.

Editing a 5 minute movie generally takes 8-24 hours.  It's very hard to say exactly as each movie has it's own difficulties.  Our goal is to make the movie story and the shots flow smoothly.  We try and avoid any jump cuts which makes the movie seem so harsh.  Some of the difficulties that arise in editing are: special effects that need to be cut into place, "actors" not repeating the correct lines, "actors" not performing the same movements, "actors" moving props into a different location.
When we film a movie, it normally is never filmed in the order that it is going to be edited in.  Sometimes the ending is filmed first and then we work around that.  It all depends and we won't know exactly until the day of filming.  So when editing it, usually, the film is all jumbled and needs to be puzzled together.  But before we can even puzzle things together, we must first "dump" the movie into the computer.  If we have 3 tapes, that's 3 hours of film on the tape, that's 3 hours of "dumping" or importing it into the computer.  So for 3 hours, our camera will be running importing the film into our computer.  From there we try and put the movie into the correct order by sectioning it, and then we finally edit.  Hours and hours, but the end result is fantastic!

Oh but wait!  Let's not forget the music that still has to be created.  That in itself takes several hours to create and then line up into certain parts of the movie.  But before the music can be created, the movie needs to be completely edited so that the music can be customized to the parts of the movie.

Nobody but editors and filmmakers can appreciate or understand the undertaking it takes to create a movie unless someone actually tries to film and edit their own movie.  It definitely takes a passion for filmmaking in order to do this task for hours and hours and love it.  Luckily that's us!!!
