IR can have two problems once a remote has been downloaded to a PC. First, it can incorrectly identify the remote. This most often occurs with remotes provided by third party vendors such as cable companies and other hardware manufacturers. It is also possible that IR won’t be able to identify your remote at all. This most often occurs with very obscure or very new remotes. It can also happen if you are the first person to ever use JP1 with your specific type of remote.
