Pirates of the Caribbean ~ An exciting tale of forbidden love, pirates, and a terrible curse, this movie has a brilliant mix of suspense, action, romance, and comedy. Johnny Depp portrays the hilarious pirate, "Captain" Sparrow. From the first moment Depp appears on screen, he gives his character a uniqueness that you can't help but love. He is witty and really gives a lot of essence to the movie. Then enter in the young William Turner, or as the ladies know him... Orlando Bloom. This is a huge leap in Orlando's career. From the blonde-haired elf, Legolas, in Lord of the Rings, to the main character in Pirates of the Caribbean, Orlando portrays a sweet inocence that would catch any girl's heart. But don't worry, this guy isn't to be easily pushed around. An excellent swordsman, Bloom and Depp join together in many very exciting and edge-of-your-seat fighting scenes. This movie has everything, and sexual content is very minimal, with one kiss. I was very pleased! One note of caution is that the pirates in their... "alternate form" I think would be very scary for young children. Now I was the wimp of all wimps growing up, but I know that I would have nightmares if I had seen this movie before 8 years old. But of course, kids are so de-sensitized these days... who knows! 4 and 1/2 stars!

Antwone Fisher ~ A heart warming story, about a boy inside a man, struggling to find who he is, and a military psychaitrist, who in his pursuit to help the boy, ends up learning more about himself. I personally do not usually enjoy dramas, but this movie is most definitely an exception. Though a drama, it has humour and does not drag on. This movie was written by and is based on the true life story of Antwone Fisher... his hardships, and his triumphant victory. Follow Antwone along with his quest, and rent this wonderful film! I've never watched this with anybody, male and female alike, who did not appreciate and enjoy it! 5 stars!
Finding Nemo ~ A work of art and step forward in computer animation, Finding Nemo had me laughing out loud again and again. The characters are diverse and colourful (both figuratively and literally), the voice-acting is fabulous, and the message will reach the audience's hearts, children and adult alike. Marlin and his son, Nemo, are clown-fish. When they get separated, a forgetful figure named Dorrie comes along and aids Marlin in his quest. But much danger lies ahead of Marlin and Dorrie. Follow along with their adventure. This is a story about over-coming all odds, believing in yourself, and believing in others. You can't help but fall in love with Finding Nemo. See it at a theatre near you! 5 stars!
