Altar date was set at 430p on January 25, 2002 (Friday) in St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Lahug. Rev. Fr. Sindulfo Iriarte, parish priest of the secluded church was to officiate the ceremonies. Dinner reception to be staged at Rady's Ballroom, Holiday Plaza Hotel. Invitations were prepared by the bride and her maid of honor, Sharon Adelheid with rigorous planning, scouting of lilac and silver materials and labored desktop publishing. Naturally, the cards exuded personalized simplicity and perfection. As for the giveaways, special mention to Charmian and Krissi for spending time with Sharon and the bride at the latter's home in making them. The efforts placed on those potpourri-filled baskets made them charming and one-of-a-kind. Wedding gown and the rest of the entourage's gown were taken cared of by Teresing. Flowers provided by Jay's friend. Photo and videography done by Rondina's. Honeymoon suite in the hotel courtesy of groom's parents.=) The rings, coins, unity candle, rosary and bible for our little altar were prepared weeks earlier. All other things to do and seminars to attend were done as scheduled.
Last January 18, Sharon, the best maid-of-honor in the world organized the chummiest shower ever. She secretly called up my highschool pals: Rhoda, Yvette, Rose and Judith; also, my closest college friend found in this city (aka. Mhian). Kookie wasn't able to make it due to domestic reasons. Anyway, the party mastermind (my Mom!) prepared a full spread: pancit canton from panadero, lechon manok, chicharon and more! One by one, the guests arrived and we hogged the table with chitchat. Such a fun way to binge =). Best part was opening the naughty presents that was such a laugh (and more giggles, snickers & what-have-you's). Soon, an incense-burning, dim-light session in the living room took event. Krissi had joined in late to pitch in the game of first encounters with jowee. Some incidents narrated which I didn't have any inklings touched the heart and a tear duct (ie. Rose's 3rd grade memory...aww!). We then chilled at Bo's Coffee, Ayala Ent. Center. People-watching and less talk. Then, had public sobbing with soon-to-be hubby who was in Tacloban. Lousy ending? Not really. It was the best shower!
