Tacloban City

The Whole 2002 - Honeymoon and the Family's First Vacation .

While carrying Jasmine, Mama Jowee had to have constant bed rest as per doctor's orders. Of course, Papa Joe had to be our breadwinner; thus, we settled in Tacloban City. As manager and chief barista of Caffe Atillo, the best coffeehouse in Visayas, he made the best fraps and cappuchs. We stayed here until Mama Jowee gave birth in Cebu on June 11.

By July (after baby's christening), we were off to Leyte again to spend family time independently. We were able to visit most of the scenic spots of the peaceful city. Not to mention, the constant flow of java joes which were Mama Jowee's favorites!

Tacloban or Bust!

Visit to relatives in Burauen.

At the McArthur Landing!

With Uncles in Caffe Atillo.

Malapascua Island

November 2001 - Our latest beachcombing experience with Mumer.

Although spontaneity was the game, we did some minor planning for this excursion. This was a 3-4hr drive from the city, so a needed grocery list and some intelligent packing were done. We outdid ourselves though with Mum's incense sticks, my "stereo" and Phlp's sari.:)

White sand was spectacular. Sunny weather was perfect. Accomodations were one of a kind! The greatest getaway...plus trekking and hill-climbing...and more.

This is the life!

An al fresco lunch.

Moonlighting.

THE souvenir shot.

Olango Island

May 2001 - Got tired of our jobs, so we took off to the neighboring island!

We whisked Rumer too for this escapade. At 3pm, the ferry tickets were stamped for the Mactan crossing. We didn't know how to get to that bird sanctuary place but to ask around. As always, the power of haggling for the best price is inevitable up to Sta. Rosa pier since payday was a week away. Still, we found our way to a secluded resort with barbecue for dinner.

Our troika were the only inhabitants of the resort. Though gated, we feared our tent would give way to the lulling wind by the beach. Yep, some kind of storm was brewing. By dawn, a goodnight sleep was unheard of as the rampaging wind took its toll. And all we did was laugh and break wind. hahaha.

What's a night without beer and clover chips.

Whaat storm? It's freaking hot.

Can't go home without this pose.
