Garden of Deliverance
There comes a time in many of our lives when we reach a seemingly insurmountable wall; a mountain we seem unable to climb, or a river to long to swim... especially upstream. Know what I mean?

In this garden we will deal with the helpless feelings we have had daughters of terminally ill parents, parents being treated for cancer, or anything else that causes role reversal between parents and children. Now THEY are the ones needing the help, and WE are the ones making the decisions, giving the care, or at the very least, worrying as they once did about us - long, long ago.

Life was so easy when we were little girls and Parents made all the problems go away, chased away the boogey man, kissed the boo boos away and held us when we were frightened by a storm or strange occurrence - often until we fell asleep in their loving arms. Mommy was the one who fixed the chicken soup and Jell-o when we had tonsils removed or strep throat. They held out hands when we had to go to the doctor, get an injection, face a scary test. They were the ones who saw us through our scary dentist visits, when we were called into the principal's office, or in trouble in school. Parents taught most of us to drive, cook, balance a check book, they helped us with homework, held us to cry when our hearts were broken for the first time... and the second... and... talked things through with us when we finally met "Mr. Right". Often Mom is the one who picks up the pieces when Mr. Right turned out to be anything but.

The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged.
