Jordanny's Fandom Timeline

2006

August 5 - Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip premiers and we get to know Danny, a former cocaine addicted who failed his fisical test and Jordan, the new president of NBS who uses that information to get him and Matt to work at Studio 60. Even though Danny seems to hate Jordan to death, the 'Jordanny spark' begins and the first fans - who by the way can see many things that normal watchers can't - know that a shipper is about to be born.

October 1st - Episode 1.03 (The Focus Group) airs. As you might know, this is the episode where Jordan is happy about the show's ratings and she kisses Matt on the cheek and Danny - ha! - on the lips. The potential shippers become a little more confident.

October 2nd - The first "Jordan & Danny as a couple" discussion starts when MandM opens a thread at the Studio60Forum saying "Does anyone see the Danny and Jordan thing at all?" Some members don't. Most of them do.

October 3rd - The first fan fiction focusing on Danny and Jordan as a potential pairing comes up at the Studio 60 Fan Fiction Community at LiveJournal. It's "You Can't Let Them Get To You", written by ladysarahii. Not much action involved, but there wasn't much about Danny and Jordan yet. Anyway, a very nice beginning.

October 26 - Danny and Jordan's first fanfiction kiss finally happens in "Nielson", by neur0vanity.

November 19 - The first Jordanny fanvideo is uploaded on YouTube by CharlotteDeBerry - yeah, that would be me :) That's definitely something to tell my children about - and it's named after Amos Lee's song "Keep It Loose, Keep It Tight".

December 4 - "The Christmas Show" airs and several things happen. First, the fans faint. Then, they memorize Danny's love declaration to Jordan. With this, non-believers finally shut up and the Jordanny fandom expands really fast during the week the episode aired. Now we had two months of hiatus to pass through, but at least there was A LOT of inspiration for fan fiction and art.

December 5 - The Danny_Jordan LiveJournal Community is opened by jezzibella and houseketeer. This site would soon become the biggest source for everything Jordanny-related.

December 6 - The Jordanny Thread is created at Studio60Forum.

HIATUS 1 (Dec 4 until Jan 21) - Hiatus is a scary word, isn't it? It might be, but the Jordanny fans survived very well through it. You don't believe me? Want some numbers? Very well: during the almost two months without new Studio 60 episodes, 61 fanfictions about Jordan and Danny were written, 10 fanvideos were made and hundreds of icons were uploaded to our livejournals.

 

2007

January 7 - The Jordanny Database is on!

January 21 - "Monday" (1.12) comes up and our worst fear becomes real: Jordan turns Danny down. However, neither his or our hope vanishes and we keep on with the massive fan production, discussion and theories. Meanwhile, critics and some other freaks - I mean, other fans of the show - start a campaign against Jordanny based on Danny's negative stalkerish behaviour. Eh... What you're gonna do...

February 4 - A happy day for the shippers. After four hours and two episodes locked on the roof, Danny and Jordan finally work things out and share their first kiss. Oh My... Is still can hear the squees from that day. And we win the fight over the anti-shippers. The only problem was that another war was about to take place... And this time, it was bigger than any shipper: the fight to keep Studio 60 alive.

February 19 - The new hiatus arrives a week earlier, but this time we have no return date for the show. Bad news for everybody.

HIATUS 2 (Feb 19 - ?) - Ok, we can go well through one hiatus, but two is way too much, even for us. So everybody took this time to focus on other stuff, like petitions to save the show, polls, or work and school. That's why the fan production felt considerably.

April 26 - A relief to all of us, at last. After NBC's attempts to fill Studio 60's timeslot with major failures The Black Donnellys and The Wedding Crashers, reason finally lights up the executive's heads and a date of return for our favorite show is announced.

May 24 - No, I'm not predicting the future. Though I can say for sure that Studio 60 will air that day on ER's former timeslot! :)
