| Soap dish with soft grip designed for Brooklyn, New York-based bliss's Big Blue Bar. In this design, a soap dish is wrapped with one piece off grip and suction cups made of Kraton to provide better positioning of the dish on a slippery surfaces or area surrounding bathtub The Kraton grip and suction cup piece is injection-molded separately from the soap dish body and assembled with soap dish body by clipping hooks of the rubber grip on the U shape recessions of the soap dish body and by snapping the tacks to the bottom of the soap dish body. Thus, production cost is reduced by simplified assembly in the place of costly co-injection. Notably, the flexible Kraton piece was designed in Solidworks which comes with a function for designing foldable/spreadable components I built its prototype in Stratasys FDM 2000 fuse deposition manufacturing prototyping machine with elastomer material. |
