This is a kitchen designed to accommodate culturally diversified people. Other than western style home cooking, cooking in other regions of the world have evolved different usage of the kitchen appliances. In cooperating with Kitchenaid, the leading kitchen appliance maker in America, this project probed into the changing face of kitchen landscape in America due to the demographic changes in age, family composition, and ethnical groups.

Main concept of multi-cultural kitchen is derived from the
symbiosis of water and fire in the kitchen. These two elements, though hostile to each other in the nature, are put to work together for preparing and cooking meals in the kitchen. Therefore, tasks in kitchen are divided into two main categories: water- and fire-related works. In this design, there is a sink and a work surface dedicated to tasks related to water; on the other hand, a cooking area equipped with a stove, a range, and a microwave, which have to do with fire or heat, are also included as well.
