Zoltan Joo (Porti): Oil paintings, altar, sculptures
On my paintings you can see the records of Jewish-Christian culture, the heros of mythology, fairy creatures and often my family and surroundings, too. I have made painted pediments, balconies, ornamented panels and panel paintings. I love animals, they are often topics of my pictures as I view them myself. One of my most significant work is a panel painted altar made of oak, in more then 5 square metres size. You can see it in the St. Catherine Chapel of Telkibnya, Hungary.
The atmosphere of my sculptures made in stone seems many times to remember my paintings. I often realize the same idea on my pictures and my sculptures, as well. I have a passion for statues of Roman age, that means the robust forms and individual, often ironic interpretation of human character.
