Youth Ministries: Senior Youths
The anointed drama group performing their drama.

From last year's ministry groups like the "Annointed Drama Group" above, new ones have evolved as some members have moved on and new ones come in. As a chaplaincy ministry targeting people the church is not reaching, part of our focus is on transient people in Livingstone colleges and high schools. Of course when these finish their time in the institutions arround Livingstone, they go back to their hometown.

Our youth ministry staff are not equal to the task of ministering to such a large group. We have other members working to make it easy for the team to function. since titles are not important in YWAM,  we have a focus on practical function. In this regard, Brian Mulenga, a social worker serves as the Chair person of the Senior Youth Group.

Doreen is gifted as a counselor, and organizer. She assists Fred with the practical services needed to make the ministry move ahead. Besides these leaders, there are others in the group who come into their own as need and challenges arise.

In the picture on the right Pastor Fred is in a black and white suite. The music was irresistible so he jumped right in to show the other youths how to "shake" before God. In the one above this, he is eating his humble lunch in between two services (it is hard to eat while the youths are waiting on you).

In the picture below, Doreen Minango making sure everything is going fine with the children's party. She baked all the cakes they ate and a few of the children were eating cake for the first time that day.

In our present neighbourhood we have very rich people and extremely poor people. We commend our well to do neighbors who have not shielded their children from the presence children of the poor and needy. We are equally glad that some of the senior youths are taking the challenge of children's ministry upon themselves.

This week, we have a team of 21 youths (DTS students from Youth With A Mission Worcester staying at the YWAM Livingstone Base. the are lined up to do some ministry to the Youth Group. Group took a short holiday of two weeks and this Sunday of 13 January is their first meeting after the 2 weeks break. Keep praying for the youths as they prepare to do outreaches in the city of Livingstone and beyond.  It has been on our hearts to send teams into our neighbouring nations but we need God's timing on this issue!
