Designed by Stephens & Company Architects. This project involved full renovation of a first floor “Art Deco” apartment. The project stands out for its quality joinery, stone bench tops and tiling. As a result of it being an old apartment, access problems and difficulty in running services were specific challenges to overcome.

Black Zimbabwe polished granite single thickness edge bench tops. Black toughened glass splash backs. Laminate finished joinery. Retractable pantry door with custom made handles from Industrial Expressions. Stainless steel framed trolley on wheels with granite top. Finger pulls to all draws and cupboards. Kitchen joinery incorporating wine racks, gas wok burner and electric stove, oven, plate warmer and microwave. Not shown in these photos in the structural steel that needed to be installed as a result of removing the load bearing walls and fireplace. |

Lowered ceiling to allow for running down lights in ceiling. Aluminium “Art Track” for hanging paintings. Tasmanian oak flooring that needed extensive patching as a result of running electrical wiring and hydronic heating between the concrete slab floor and timber flooring. Access panels for switchboard and hydronic heater piping. |

Glass mosaic floor tiles with tiled shower base. Not shown in this photo is the laundry cupboard that housed a clothes washing machine, clothes dryer, the upper apartments services, this apartments switch board and the hydronic heater boiler. This posed many difficulties in fitting all these items is such a confined space. |

Low iron frameless glass fixed shower screen for extra clear finish. Glass shower shelf. Roger Seller fixtures. |

New built in robes with second hand re-chromed light fitting. New hydronic heating in all rooms. The cavities all required modifying the recess involving detailed carpentry and plaster work. New window shutters to all windows. |

Emporite finished entertainment joinery with fully retractable doors that slide away. The living area required re-rendering the walls and new skirting board through out. Double mirrors with beveled edges and light fitting wired from behind. New granite hearth to fire place. |
