Mas de Pinet, Saint Dezery, France |
This project involved living and working in the South of France restoring a 300 year old “Mas”. The project involved a huge amount of masonry work designed to match the original design and taste of the house. The once-off design, unique detail involved, combined with the attention to detail made for a very interesting, once-in-a-lifetime and fulfilling project.

Bench walls constructed from hollow terracotta bricks then rendered. Concrete bench tops with second hand recycled concrete tiles laid while concrete still wet. Bench tops involved construction of shutters and formwork prior to installation of steel reinforcement and pouring of concrete. Custom made cabinetry. New concrete slab flooring with re-laid 300 year old terracotta tiles in unusual pattern. Faux stone around kitchen door entry made from render to imitate stone. |
Not shown in the photos is the extensive amount of work performed to reconstruct and repair the existing roof. |
