Library shelving to imitate a stack of books.

The shape and design of this room makes it truly unique.

Due to the unusual shape of the room and the required specific gradients of the floor, the floor screed, templates, final cutting and installation of the Black Zimbabwe stone floor required tremendous patience, care and attention to detail. Tiling work also involved great care and attention to detail.

Designed by Tom Huberts & Joy Geary

A property developer modified the “Abbey” in the mid 90’s.  Unfortunately the quality of design, materials and workmanship left large scope for improvement.

This project involved reconfiguring and refitting of the interior of the home.

The project stands out by its uniqueness and detail of design combined with the uncompromised quality of its fixtures, fittings and cabinetry.

A large part of the project’s success was due to the exceptional participation of the owners in the detail of design and ongoing decision-making process during its construction.

Existing timber floor with tongue oil finish, Black Zimbabwe granite bench tops, Emporite finish cabinetry and concealed rangehood ducting system.

Integrated fridges, custom made steel handles, frameless internal highlight window & door.

The two tiled recesses have incorporated red glass splash-backs and stainless steel soap holders.

The underfloor heating, heated towel rail and heat lamp make for a very cosy and warm environment in he cold winter months.

Right: The en-suite is entered via a frameless glass door with custom-made stainless steel handle.
