Florida State (3), (4) at Iowa State (U), (44), Saturday 8:30 PM ET Final Score: Florida State, 38-31
What happened: Iowa State QB Seneca Wallace dove into the end zone for what appeared to be a game-tying touchdown (assuming the extra point would be made) with four seconds to play, but the official ruled that he was out at the one. On the final play of the game, FSU's Kendyll Pope and Jerel Hudson stopped Wallace on the option and FSU got the hang on victory. FSU went up 24-0 highlighted by a 48-yard interception return for a TD by Alonzo Jackson, but ISU came back as Wallace threw for two scores and ran for another.

Arizona State at Nebraska (10), (8), Saturday 7:45 PM ET
Final Score: Nebraska, 48-10
What happened: All eyes were on new Nebraska starting QB Jammal Lord and he didn't disappoint passing for 33 yards and a score and leading the Huskers in rushing with a 103-yard day. The real stars were on the Nebraska defense which held ASU to only 83 yards on the ground and 175 yards passing with most of the yards coming in garbage time. Nebraska's Scott Shanle returned a blocked a punt for a score as the Huskers scored 38 points in the second half.

Texas Tech (39), (50) at Ohio State (13), (12), Saturday 2:30 PM ET
Ohio State: 45-21
What happened: OSU freshman RB Maurice Clarett took the college football world by storm by ripping through Texas Tech for 175 yards and three touchdowns including scoring runs of 59 and 45 yards leading the Buckeyes to a 38-7 lead. Texas Tech QB Kliff Kingsbury threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns, but he did most of his damage when the outcome was decided.

Arkansas State at Virginia Tech (16), (16), Sunday 2:30 PM ET Final Score: 63-7
What Happened: Virginia Tech jumped out to a 56-0 halftime lead led by touchdowns on a punt and interception returns by DeAngelo Hall and a 32-yard scoring run by Lee Suggs. Tech QB Bryan Randall came came in for Grant Noel, who was 2 of 5 for 24 yards, and was 6 of 8 for 64 yards and a touchdown and ran five times for 47 yards and two scores.

Colorado State (43), (42) at Virginia (U), (55), Thursday 7:30 PM ET Final Score: Colorado State, 35-29
Driving for the potential game tying score, Virginia QB Marques Hagans fumbled the ball on the CSU one-yard line with :09 to play. Colorado State recovered preserving the win in a great early game. CSU RB Cecil Sapp scored two touchdowns while Jeff Babcock hit five field goals including two late in the fourth quarter to break a 29-29 tie.

Fresno State (U), (39) at Wisconsin (25), (23), Friday 8:00 PM ET Final Score: Wisconsin, 23-21
UW's Mike Allen got a second chance at the winning field goal hitting a 34-yard field goal with 2:05 left. With a shot at 46 yarder, Allen missed but an offside penalty gave the Badgers the ball back. In his first start replacing David Carr, Fresno State QB Jeff Grady was 21 of 42 for 262 yards and three touchdowns, but star WR and kick returner Bernard Berrian left the game with an injured knee.

New Mexico at N.C. State (27), (25), Saturday 4:30 PM ET Final Score: N.C. State, 34-14
NC State QB Philip Rivers had a field day accounting for five touchdown and throwing for 276 yards while the Wolfpack defense was equally impressive holding the Lobos to 242 yards with most of those coming after the game was well in hand. NC State star RB recruit T.A. McLendon ran for 79 yards while Sterling Hicks and Jerricho Cotchery combined for 9 catches for 190 yards and a score. Bryan Peterson caught three passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. For New Mexico, Quincy Wright led the team in both rushing (65 yards and a TD) and receiving (four catches for 40 yards.)
