I knew we weren't going to be the team of last year, but I had hoped for a better showing than we put up against Notre Dame.  What was happening on offense?  The run's already weakened.  So we'll run some more.  It's not working.  Hmmm...We'll run some more and see what happens.  Not working.  We'll bring in Chris Kelley to throw for one possession.  Didn't work.  Let's run for the rest of the game.  I'm not sure if our receivers are slow, or what.  They sure looked like it.  They couldn't get more than about a yard and a half on any play.  We also need to learn how to run the option.  You notice I'm not even talking about Akron?  They're bad.  If we don't win...I'll be upset.

Please may we rebound from the Notre Dame loss, against the Akron Zips, of all teams.  Akron is an ugly town with an ugly team.  I have no faith in the offense thus far, but the Terps still should have no trouble in this one.  If they do, it could be an uglier season than anyone expected.

Fresno State (U), (46) at Oregon (13). (13) (Phil's Pick) Final Score: Oregon, 28-24
GUEST SAGE ARUN: Oregon, 24-9
14.8 points
Harmon: Oregon, 31-20
17.8 points
CFN: Oregon, 38-13
11.6 points

Joe: Oregon, 31-16

I think Onterrio Smith and the Ducks are good.  I think Fresno State and whoever they have are respectable.  Respectable is great and all, but it won't get the win.  I don't think there's any way Oregon loses this game, but it could finish off closer than expected.

I don't know if Fresno's starting QB or best WR (Jeff Grady and Bernard Berrian, respectively), are back, but I doubt it will matter in rowdy Autzen Stadium.  Harrington gone, Fife in, doesn't matter, Ducks will win.  Watch out for Oregon RB Onterrio Smith as well.  One of the best in all the land.

Texas A&M (20), (27) at Pittsburgh (U), (42) (Joe's Pick)
Final: Texas A&M, 14-12
GUEST SAGE ARUN: Pittsburgh, 21-7
10.6 points
Harmon: Pittsburgh, 19-17
12.8 points
CFN: Pittsburgh, 17-12

Joe: Texas A&M 17-6

I'm not sure if Pittsburgh has an offense.  I'm not sure if Texas A&M has an offense.  I think there's more of a chance that A&M brings one today.  I really think they're good.  They just need to figure some things out on the offensive side of the ball.  If they do that, look for them to join in the thick of teams that have impact in the Big XII.  Pittsburgh is pretty decent (they're the team that I give as an example of teams that would have beat UMD if they had played each other last year.  It pisses Jacob off to no end).  I just don't think they're Big XII decent.

Pitt is 1-0, but they have more questions than they did before they beat Ohio.  Some in the 'Burgh are already calling for true freshman and former local high school superstar Tyler Palko to get under center.  I don't expect it to happen in this game, but I do expect the Panthers to somehow get the win over a tough Aggie team.  (By the way, A&M QB Mark Farris is another one of those guys that seems to have been in college since the Berlin Wall came down )
