WEEK 1
Showcase Picks:
Fresno State at Tennessee: Final Score: Tennessee, 24-6
CFN: Tennessee, 27-17 6.2 points
Harmon: Tennessee, 33-13
7.8 points

Joe: Tennessee, 38-17

Raise your hand if you have heard of Casey Clausen.  He's been here a while.  A 4-year starter if you were wondering.   You know he has a 63% completion percentage, ahead of even Manning?  He's number two in all the lists besides that, but look for him to make the school record book his own.  Mr. Cedric Houston?  He's still a junior?  Googly moogly.  You know he runs the 40 in the 4.3s?  You know he averaged 10 ypc in high school?  Broke 2400 yards as a high school sophomore?  Now, Fresno State still has Bernard Berrian at wideout, after losing him for most of last year, but yeesh....Tennessee is back, I'm telling you right now.

I really like Fresno (WR Bernard Berrian is the bomb), and I think they'll keep this one close for a while before the vengeance of the Vols comes down upon them.  What vengeance, you ask? That which stems from last year's disappointing season and finish.  But I still don't like you, Tennessee.  Not one bit.  Casey Clausen has been in college since Michael Jackson released "Dangerous."  Look it up.  Just graduate, "Iceman."

Kris: Tennessee, 32-17

Wow, I gotta give credit to Pat Hill and the Bulldogs, they will play anyone. They do play in a conference that includes such luminaries as UTEP, Rice, and Louisiana Tech but, theyre non conference schedule is straight nasty. I mean like getting the clap from a hooker nasty, at Tennessee and Oklahoma and home for Oregon State. Well I wish them luck but I see a big bounce back year for the Vols. Tennessee wins 32 17.

Georgia at Clemson:
Final Score: Georgia, 30-0
CFN: Georgia, 23-20 0.6 points
Harmon: Georgia, 28-14
4.0 points

Joe: Georgia, 31-13

Georgia is fresh off of the SEC championship and a BCS blowout.  Clemson is fresh off of the suck-train.  Whitehurst yadda yadda but Greene yadda ya.  No contest.

Phil: Georgia, 21-13

These teams have plenty of epic battles between them in their history, and if you didn't know that until recently, ESPN Classic has proved it by showing at least one Georgia-Clemson game everyday for like the past two weeks.  This one won't be a classic, but I think it will be closer than it should be.  Jowjah has far more talent, but hey, I'm citing a "gut feeling" here. It was good enough for Bill Cowher and Butch Davis in their decision-making processes lately, so it's good enough for me.

Kris: Georgia, 31-9
6.6 points
Georgia will probably struggle to find consistency on offense since they are replacing their entire offensive line. Lucky for them they are playing Clemson so offensive line cohesiveness isnt terribly necessary for success. Clemson needs a big year to keep Tommy Bowdens job. Heres saying that doesnt happen. Jowja wins 31- 9.

Missouri vs. Illinois (St. Louis):
Final Score: Missouri, 22-15
CFN: Missouri, 31-23
8.0 points
Harmon: Missouri, 21-20
7.8 points

Joe: Missouri, 28-13
7.2 points
Mizoobilee zoo.  That used to be my favorite show.  Brad Smith is going to embarrass the Illini D.  Honestly.  He will run for a buck and pass for two bucks.  Sprinkle 3 TDs on top and call it a night.

Phil: Missouri, 42-16
2.2 points
No one knows what to expect out of the Fighting Illini this year, but I expect them to lose this game against Big Brad Smith and Mizzou.  Not only lose, but lose handily.  That's all you get here.

Kris: Missouri, 45-17
1.2 points
Missouri is trendy this year. Flashy young gun quarterback etc etc. Well Illinois certainly isnt the team to dispel any of that stuff. I foresee Missouri as the Iowa State of last year, fast start, slow finish. Since its early and the time for said fast start Mizzou 45 17.

South Florida at Alabama:
Final Score: Alabama, 40-17
CFN: Alabama, 38-17
9.2 points
Harmon: Alabama, 29-12
6.6 points

Joe: Alabama, 35-10
8.2 points
Ba-ma's-back!  Ba-ma's-back!  Well...at least they're good.  South Florida is a quaint little mini-power, but this is Bama!  The Crimson Tide.....the elephants......Cathy calls them the periods.  Whatever you call them, make sure you include the title "the Bull-rapers" at the end, because that's gonna happen here.

Phil: Alabama, 38-12
8.4 points
Huh?  Why Kris, why?  Marquel Blackwell is gone, man.  Do I expect the Bulls to put up a fight?  Hardly.  'Bama has problems, but they should take care of this team easily.

Kris: South Florida, 29-14
-7.8 points
Starting a football program from scratch and then going division 1 in under 6 years, mighty impressive. Despite going  9- 2 the Bulls failed to garner a bowl bid but that situation will be rectified this year since they have joined Conference USA. Meanwhile the Crimson tide are on their third coach in 9 months or so. Those players cant possibly respect Mike Shula, I only know he coached the Bengals so we all know how that turned out. The Bulls start off with a bang 29 - 14.
