Chapter 3

Tooya’s running came to a stop.

“I think I should drop you off here. Be more careful from now on. Ja…” said Tooya letting go of Yumi’s hand and walking away.

“Too…Tooya, that is your name right? I…should thank you for saving my life.” Said Yumi blushing.

“You are welcome...you are?" asked Tooya

"I am Yumi Kinomoto."

"You are welcome Yumi. Take care. I really should be going now. Ja Yumi san." said Tooya waving his hand in the air.

“Wait! Um…can…can you please accompany be back to my house? I mean…you don’t have to, but I’ll feel safer, since it is getting dark. And they injected me with something which makes me weak, I don't wanna be attacked by some perverd out in the dark. That does sound selfish doesn't it? Oh well! So it does. Besides, you have nothing important to do today right? Hold on, how would I even know…but I need to check on Okasan...but it would be dangerous...Kagami might have people there already..and...” went Yumi on and on hoping he won’t reject to this and partly worried about her mother.

“Sure.” Said Tooya with a smile, a smile that was lost for a long time.

Yumi took the long way home, hoping she can have more time with this handsome man. Even though they just met, but she liked him very much already.

“So, what do you do?” asked Yumi

“I really don’t know. I was working for the Mikage International, but some things happened. Right now, I am just focusing on remembering someone. I was thinking about asking Kagami...I know...sounds stupid doesn't it? Going to the one person I shouldn't go to.”

“Mikage International…you use to work for them?” asked Yumi

“Don’t worry, this is not another one of their traps.”

“I…I know…I am just afraid of that word.” Said Yumi and acting cheerful changed the subject. “THAT'S WHY I SAW YOU EARLIER BEFORE I ENTERED! Um...I was really curious that's all...don't mind me shouting to loud! eh..that isn’t much said. What happened? Who are you trying to remember?”said Yumi desperately trying to change the subject fast, she was embarassing herself. 'What an great day to make youself look dumb!' Thought Yumi.

“No I don't mind, yes that is the reason why you saw me there. Sigh, for your second question,it is a very long story. Someone died because of me. Her name is Miori. And I think that is enough said for now. The girl I want to remember is Aya…urg.” Said Tooya now feeling throbbing pain in his head.

“What’s wrong? Daijoubu?” said Yumi putting a hand on Tooya’s shoulder.

“I’m going to be okay. It is strange. Whenever I try the remember Aya there is this throbbing pain in my head.” Said Tooya for one of the first times, trusting someone.

“That does sound strange. Have you gone to the doctors?” said Yumi but actually thinking about how this Aya girl look like, sound like, and so on.

“Ha…doctors? Kagami is probably tracking me down right now; with Wei, who just found me, it won’t be too hard. They have a really wide resource, if I go to the doctors, I’ll probably end up with them.” Said Tooya with a sad but mocking laugh.

Yumi walked quietly with Tooya from then on. She didn’t know what to say to this man. She is only sixteen; he is at least in his twenties. Yumi felt she was just a kid, who made stupid remarks. 'Aya probably makes better remarks! They must be very close, are they boyfriend girlfriend already? Must be!' thought Yumi distastefully. The more talking means the more bad remarks she’ll make, so being quiet is the better choice to make. They kept walking in silence until she saw her house.

“Well, this is my house.” Said Yumi as Tooya walked her to the door.

“Don’t get into too much trouble, I won’t always be there you know?” said Tooya giving Yumi’s hand a gentle squeeze.

Yumi took her keys out but found the door unlocked. ‘That is strange.’ Yumi thought to herself. She opened the door and looked in. There wasn’t any sign of break-in or stolen properties, however, the house was dark and had an eerie feeling to it.

“Is everything alright?” asked Tooya a little worried, still standing outside the door.

“Oh yeah. I think Okasan just forgot to lock the door.” Said Yumi looking back at Tooya with a weak smile, because she knew her mother was a careful woman.

“Okasan? I’m home!” called Yumi walking to the nearest wall; turning on the lights. The lights didn’t go on. “Hm…odd, the electricity must be out.” Said Yumi nervously to herself. “Okasan? Are you there?” called Yumi again walking slowly towards the kitchen, where her mother usually stays to wait for Yumi to come home.

“Okasan?” called Yumi now in frenzy.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her from behind.
