Chapter 2

“This is not a school…” panicked Yumi to those mysterious men finally noticing it was strange to enter a business looking building.

“Of course, the Mikage International is sponsoring this program, so we will just run a few tests to see if you are good enough to enter the advanced placement program.” Said one of the men, though the way he said the words were cold and harsh.

“ I…” stammered Yumi continuously.

“You can leave any time you want, only if you are sure you want to let go of this chance.”

"I'm not going anywhere." said Yumi with a determined look. Falling right into the trap.

‘What kind of harm can they do to me, and it is through the principle, so it is safe. Yes it is safe,’ Thought Yumi, but she was failing to keep this thought. And her quivering hand proved it. Soon she entered an office room and was directed to sit down and wait. Those men that came in with her were now far away, as the echoing of footsteps in the hall became faint, the office room was filled with dead silence. Again, the uncomfortable feeling came upon Yumi, which made her really wanting to leave. She was just about to get up when the door sprawled open with a man, a presence that will make one's blood run cold.

“Ano, are you Yumi Kinomoto?”

“Y…yes.” Said Yumi acting calm, but her voice was betraying her. She was afraid.

“Well, let me introduce myself, I’m Mikage Kagami. You looked worried, are you okay?” said Kagami pretending to be concerned.

“No I’m not okay. I feel very uncomfortable with this, and I don’t want to go into any advanced program anymore! I would like to leave now!” Yumi said loudly turning to leave.

“Leaving so soon?” said Kagami with a smirk.

Yumi turned to look at Kagami giving him an angry stare and went to the door. She turned the doorknob, and stepped out finding herself cornered back into the room with force by a different set of people.

“Wei, Assam, grab hold of her!” said Kagami. Before Yumi had time to react, her arms were grabbed forcefully. Yumi thought she could get rid of the kid, Assam easily, but her judgement was false. No matter how much she struggled the tight grip on her could not me loosened.

“What do you want? What is this? Why are you doing this to me?” cried Yumi whose eyes were flooded with tears now.

“You might not be aware of what you can be capable of, nor do I at this moment. However, I have done some searching on accidents that happened within 10 years and found some information rather interesting. When you were around 10 years old your father died, which was a riddle to everyone at that time. He was cut across the eye so he lost his site, that of course caused him to loose his control over the stirring wheel. That everyone could predict, but the funny thing was, you weren't even hurt. Perhaps a bit scratched and bruised, but nothing serious. It might not be understood by news reporters or any other smart guys who were examining your father's dead body, but it clicked to me right away with one look at the files. You could very well be a Tennyo, and an great addition to the C-project. The exertion of too much energy for such an young girl COULD cause the lost of memory. That all of course, is just my prediction." said Kagami with an evil grin.

“What C-project? Tennyo?” said Yumi confused

"Yes the C-project. It is a wonderful way to test your powers, powers belonging only to Tennyos, if you do have them. The Legend...I am very fond of the legend. Just imagine you can go to a different place, fly all the way up, out of trouble...into space...that's where I believe they go... You can be powerful, unique and special. You can be so much more." said Kagami lying. He just needed to experiment with more tennyo to suit "his" interest. If she really dumbly agrees, then it would just be another bird trapped in his cage, and under his control forever.

"I don't believe you, and into space? Are you out of your mind?...and though I can't remember...but I have no powers or Tennyo powers, I don't need to me special either...the accident is just an accident...Otoosan must have loved me very much!" said Yumi as a piece of her childhood flashed through her mind.

‘Otoosan, where are we going? Where’s Okasan? Otoosan, where are you? Don’t leave me here. Why are you leaving me here? -Another man enters- who are you? What do you want, get away…ah! Get away…hanashite…ah! OTOOSAN!!!!’

“NO!! Why did Otoosan leave me with that man?” screamed Yumi with tears.

“And you were saying he must have loved you? Am I triggering your past? Not the brightest past I can tell.” Said Kagami with sarcasm to make the fire burn brighter in her eyes.

“It…was for money…I saw Otoosan counting money in the car…” Said Yumi as she trembled, deep into her own thoughts, another memory flashed through her mind.

‘Otoosan…Otoosan…you are here to save me? Otoosan…where is Okasan…I want Okasan!’

‘Okasan and I had a fight before we came out, we are filing a divorce.’

‘Divorce? Dooshite? Why did you drop me off with that…’

‘I needed money, I don’t love you…you and Okasan will suffer…you were born in the wrong family Yumi…’

‘Dooshite? Dooshite? Otoosan…’

‘Don’t give me that pathetic look, I don’t want you to be a burden on my car, you mind as well get off here on the highway!’

‘Dooshite..’

‘Can you hear me? Don’t think I’ll drive you back!’ said Yumi’s father turning around to look at her.

‘DOOSHITE!!!!!!!!!!’ screamed Yumi as her eyes turned from aqua green to deep red, and her short hair sprawled out like a whip striking everything in its way. Yumi’s father was lashed right across the eyes and cried out in agony. He let go of the stirring wheel and the car crashed into the side of the highway. A soft glow of yellow light surrounded Yumi protecting her from getting harmed, and she fainted.

‘Are you okay?’ a stranger said.

‘Where am I?’

‘You have suffered a car accident, you will be safe with us. This is the Takumei Hospital, and we will take good care of you.’

‘Who am I? Why can’t I remember anything?’

‘You are Yumi Kinomoto. This accident gave you too much shock, but your memory will come back, don’t worry. We are surprised you even stayed alive, however, your father wasn't so lucky. We will contact your mother to pick you up.’

‘Otoosan?’

“Okasan did come later, but she never knew what happened to me. I never remembered...too painful...” Said Yumi with one more tear droplet rolling down her cheek. Suddenly snapping out of her thoughts her eyes were full of hatred again.

“I don't need to waste any more time here! What am I still doing here for? Get your hands off me!” yelled Yumi realizing she was talking to herself and her new made enemies; as her aqua green eyes started to turn deep red, and her hair sprung out from her bun with her hair color turning from brown to dark black.

“Inject her Alex! Fast!” said Kagami with a wicked smile. The injection was successful and Yumi weakened.

“Yumi san, just a little treat. You didn’t think I’ll have you overpower me did you? Tricking you to come here unprepared? Not my style.” mocked Kagami.

“You bastard! Just how many girls did you trick that way!” yelled Yumi

"Lots of girls of course! It worked perfectly on you, didn't it? And this plan is so simple, only a abscent-minded person would fall into such an trap. You should be grateful that you were chosen. You are very interesting, discovering your powers at such an young age. It would be great to find out why."

Just as Kagami was busy in his own thoughts, Wei and Assam loosened their grip on Yumi just a bit. 'This is my chance!' thought Yumi, with her last bit of energy she pushed Wei and Assam aside while they were not paying attention. Yumi ran out the door, but everywhere she looked it was another door, a different exit. ‘Which one?’ Yumi yelled in her mind as she felt herself spinning around and around as she searched. She could now hear voices behind her, shouting loudly. She picked the door in front of her and ran to the pushing it open desperately. She kept running until she saw a faint exit sign, her destination. All her hopes was at this door. It was either wrong or right. She opened the door. The fresh air greeted her, but no sooner did she see Wei closely behind, yelling after her. Yumi ran into the streets and just when she was looking back to see if Wei followed, she slammed into the same man with the beautiful red hair. Petrified, she was not sure if he was one of them.

“AH!”

“Are you okay?” asked the strange man.

“I…I…” words were not forming, and Yumi couldn’t talk right. Before she could form a sentence, Wei appeared.

“Tooya, stand aside, I need to get this girl back to Mikage International. The C-project wouldn’t be complete without a tennyo like her!” said Wei pretending to be friendly.

‘Tooya, so that’s his name!'thought Yumi.

“I don’t think you mean her any good. I won’t let another tennyo end up in a prison getting experimented.” Said Tooya.

“You’re not going to leave then? Hmph…though you cut my left eye last time, this time, it will be your turn!” yelled Wei as he charged forward with this chained whip. Wei couldn’t even lash Tooya, and with a few swift kicks Tooya nailed Wei, sending Wei sliding across the rough cement ground.

“A…” said Yumi stunned there.

“Don’t stand there, get going.” Said Tooya, as he grabbed Yumi by the hand pulling her with him as he ran.
