January 22, 2003 - A visit from my auntie
Dear Friends, I apologize for not having kept you up to date on my fantabulous shenanigans in over a week, but I was preparing for, and enjoying, a visit from my auntie.  My aunt is only four years older than I am, so we really grew up more like brother and sister.  Anyhoo, she visited me for 6 days and we had a bootilicious time.

On Wednesday I picked her up at the airport and we went straight to my house where I had prepared a deee-lish Indian meal for her.  It was quite yummy yum yum, if I do say so myself.  The next day she went around to different shops and stuff while I was at hateful ol' work and then I met her at Ye Olde Watering Hole where we had a few drinkies.

On Friday she came with me to hateful ol' work, where she had a job interview and then we went out to eat.  She had a deee-lish Cornish game hen salad and
JOHNNYLEEN had deee-lish liver and onions.  (Yes, I know a lot of people don't like liver, but I do...so there!)  That evening we met some of my friends for din-din and had deee-lish filets mignons.  And after that, of course, was booze galore at a nearby bar.

On Saturday we drove out to an old mill that has been converted into quaint shoppes and antique stores and looked around for a few hours.
JOHNNYLEEN bought a neat amethyst ring that will have to be re-sized to fit him.  Then we scurried over to Ye Olde Watering Hole for dinner and to listen to a Zydeco band.  JOHNNYLEEN even danced!

On Sunday we went to a restaurant that featured a buffet and a DRAG PERFORMANCE!  It was really, really funny.  Some of the performers looked just like women, but then you could tell that some of them were men.  My aunt took pictures of them as they posed for her and she gave them dollars for their efforts.  Then we headed from there to a bar where they have $2 double-vodka drinks.  Needless to say,
JOHNNYLEEN was feeling no pain by the time we got back to his apartment.  It had to be an early evening, because we had to get up at 5 o'clock Monday morning for my aunt's flight back home.  I was sooooo tired after all of our hijinks that I went to bed at 7:00 Monday evening!

On top of all that,
JOHNNYLEEN was forced to go shopping for a new piano.  My current one is falling apart, poor thing, and needs to be put out to pasture.  The tuner told me the Old Warhorse is breaking apart bit by bit.  I opened up the front panel and found that one of the hammers had fallen down to the bottom of it and the ivory has been peeling away from the keys for some time now.  I got a good deal on a new beautiful cherry console made by Kohler and Campbell with a $350 trade-in for my old one.  Her Majesty will arrive on Saturday for my playing pleasure.  Woo hoo!  As I gradually build up a picture file for you, Dear Friends, I'll include a picture of Her Royal Highness in it.  I refer to the new piano as royalty, because she ain't cheap; I actually had to go back into debt to purchase her!  Oh, the tribulations of being fantabulous me!
