However, this would hardly be an adequate intoduction without a short mention of the band this site concerns. Johnny Fontaine, or simply the Tane, took their name from Don Corleone's Frank Sinatra-esque godson in "The Godfather". How witty. After a single gig to a bunch of Townies in St Albans and the upsetting departure of their original drummer, the Tane moved up the metaphorical musical ladder to the dizzy heights of Harlow Square's rock contest. Between the arrival of Ben "he bangs the drums" Handysides and the present date, JF have recorded a demo, gained many new fans, written some "cracking original material" and secured a gig with the Crocketts. That can't be bad for a band who have been together under a year and have had to suffer the rantings, ravings and obvious insane tendencies of their classicaly trained guitarist, Richard "telecaster" Brooks.
