The morning startred out overcast. Breakfast was again cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, etc. Sean is gettin upset about the whole breakfast dilema, apparently a full breakfast is really important to him. Anyways, we leave Woody Point and decide to check out the Tablelands one last time and then head over to the other side of the park.
The road follows the coastline more or less and we pass through turn after turn of beautiful scenery. Mountains of rock, inlet coves and lakes, its stunning. Sean see's a dirt road that appears to go up to an antenna on top of a hill so we decide to try to drive up it. The road ends at piece of heavy equiptment that is digging into the side of the hill. Next to the shovel I notice something strange. The carcasses of about 7 moose are strewn about and some of them appear to have been burned. Not wanting to meet the people who did that we decide to leave. We head up to Norris Cove and Rocky Harbour before turning around and heading towards Twillingate and hopefully meet up with Steve and Alice again.
Back on the Trans Canada east towards Grand Falls/Windsor, same gorgeous scenery as before although not as sensational as Gros Morne. We stop along the road for a nature stop, and notice another dirt road that appears to go up to another antenna. As we had so much luck with the last dirt road we gave this one a shot as well. The "dirt road" becomes several inches of crushed stone, and rocks in several places and becomes quite difficult to navigate on a street bike. There are several forks in the road and many places where the road has been washed out, but these roads go on for miles, if we'd only been on dirtbikes. We spend about an hour exploring, and do get some decent views that we would have missed from the road.
It's 4pm and we've got about 200km to Grand Falls/Windsor. Somehow I don't think we're going to make Twillingate. We end up in Norris Arm North at the Alderberg B+B with our hosts Bernice and Jim. Supper at Irving and I fall asleep watching tv.
