Welcome to Newfoundland

Introduction

This is a trip that I just decided one day out of the blue I was going to attempt. Our company was going to have a two week shutdown, so I needed to vacation somewhere. My friend Sean had done a Newfie trip the year that I met him and he couldn't stop saying what a good time he had. I guess you could say that he planted the seed that festered within me for the last two years. I had to get to Newfoundland! Over dinner in an Indian restaurant, Sean brought up the idea of a motorcycle trip around the great lakes. I told him i was thinking about checking out The Rock; his eyes lit up, and I knew then it would happen.

There was not much planning involved in this trip, other than having a general idea of where we were going, it was pretty much seat of the pants. We had reservations on the ferry that we changed twice, and we had no reservations for rooms at all.
