The Inverhaugh Cricket Academy (ICA) is a regional sports organization in Waterloo-Wellington area and is comprised of students, parents, coaches and community volunteers.

ICA is dedicated to promote and enhance the game of cricket in the region of Waterloo and Wellington.

ICA is committed to encourage cooperation among team members and provide leadership opportunities.

Membership

Membership is open to residents of Waterloo and Wellington Counties between the ages of 10 and 19.

There will be no annual membership fee, but a nominal fee will be charged to cover any costs of administration on application to join the academy.  Membership will be decided by a committee consisting of Officers of the Academy, and all applicants will require a sponsor to nominate them to the Academy.

Membership of the Academy allows access for the youth to additional coaching in all aspects of cricketing life

Guiding Principles

We believe:

  • In "fair play" in sports.
  • In the enjoyment, growth and personal achievement team members realize through their participation in games and positive healthy lifestyle
  • In respecting the diversity of needs, interests and abilities among team members.
  • In the educational value of interaction among team members, coaches, and community members provincially, nationally and internationally
  • In supporting partnerships with other organizations who share our values and objectives.

The Academy is based at The Inverhaugh Cricket Club, and has access to the facilities of that club.  Members of the Inverhaugh Junior Cricket Teams may be drawn from members of the Academy, although membership is not a prerequisite for selection for an Inverhaugh Junior Team.

The Academy supplies the coaching expertise which is used in regular coaching clinics at Inverhaugh

The Academy supports youth initiatives in High School Cricket within the Waterloo-Wellington region.  This has recently included support in the organisation of Winter nets at one High School.  In addition, the Academy has assisted the formation of an Inter-High School Tournament, providing technical (umpiring) and organisational help the allow this to happen in both the Summer and Autumn terms.

Enquiries about the Academy should be sent to [email protected]

Good Sportsmanship:

Opposing teams shake hands at the end of the match

Learning to Score is one of the disciplines

Apparatus used for sifting soil - youth learn that the price of

playing cricket at Inverhaugh is working hard to maintain the facilities!

The Winning Run is scored - that's what it is all about!
