as a living museum, the Camp John Hay Historical Core not only
features places and relics of interest that are nods to the Camp’s
past but also showcases local art and culture, provides a venue
for environmental awareness, skills training and human resource
development.

POLE |

The visages
of men who ushered in the American colonial era, who shaped the
development of Baguio City and Camp John Hay, and who led the
liberation of the Philippines during World War II look out over
the changes time and circumstance have wrought. Emilio Aguinaldo
is the sole Filipino on the pole, considered a worthy adversary
who led the fight to keep the Americans out.
Starting
at the top, they are Admiral George Dewey, General Emilio Aguinaldo,
President William Howard Taft, Secretary John Milton Hay, WIlliam
Cameron Forbes, President Theodore Roosevelt, Major General Franklin
Bell, Lt. Colonel Lyman W. Kennon, Mayor James Halsema, General
Douglas Mcarthur. |
